Singer Joss Stone has started making commercials for the Gap stores. As anyone familiar with her knows, she always performs barefoot, and from what I've seen so far, she's barefoot in these commercials as well. I think she is a really great celebrity role model, young, and a great singer with fans all over the world. Hopefully her barefootin' ways will, at least in some small way, change a few attitudes. I hope so.
Amen... I think Joss Stone goes barefoot to be different, not because it's necessarily enjoyable...Though it would make sense to be barefoot when on stage for extended periods of time, rather than wear the ridiculous shoes some celebrities think they HAVE to wear...
Luckily shes not like alot of celebs that they shnucker into and pay to wear certain kinds of clothes *usually theirs* and they get em to wear these gawd awful shoes. I think itd be more worth it to just be a singer and wear what you wanna wear, I mean sure you probably wouldnt make that extra money but at least you wouldnt have big fashion companies hounding you to show off their garbage.
keller williams always performs barefoot on a big oriental rug he doesn't do it to be cool, he's just a dirty hippie!
That's not really the point. I wouldn't even go into a Gap much less buy any of their crappy clothes, but they are very well known, with 3,000 stores all over the world, and their commercials will be watched by millions of people. Here we have an 18 year-old beautiful, very talented, singer who has millions of fans and who almost always performs barefoot. And apparently she is going to be barefoot in these commercials. I've seen one already, and she was barefoot. Celebrities like her are admired and emulated by lots of young people who may have already been brainwashed to think that they must always have on some kind of footwear. Maybe after watching her in these commercials they will begin to think that barefooting is pretty cool after all. So I think her doing these commercials is one of the best things that has happened for the cause of barefooting in many, many years.
I think it's great that she performs barefoot and now unshod in that commerical as well. Hopefully it should send a message to the younger crowd that it's ok to go barefoot!
Something tells me she actually likes it. She's barefoot too much to be doing it just to have a different image. She was in a recent episode of Punked. She went to a store shopping for clothes-barefoot of course. She looked great in bare feet wearing a knee-high skirt. It was funny because she was there with some guy who I guess set her up for it, but the whole thing invoved some kid flipping out. At some point the kid throws a vase on the ground shattering it to pieces. Joss keeps walking around the store as if nothing happened. And her companion at some point screams "Joss be careful- your feet!" or something like that. Anwyas, she is beautiful, has some talent, and is a barefooter. She deserves all good that's coming to her. It would be great if it influences other girls to go barefoot as well.
Well, Britney has gone barefoot in public on occasion (and has been made fun of and put down in the media for doing it), but never performs barefoot to my knowledge. So it appears that Joss Stone is much more of a real barefooter than Britney.
I actually like joss a lot, and the alliance with the gap is something she could do without, but she's not one who likes shoes that much, i hear.
Bill Nershi performs barefoot most the time, int he summer at least. Although I see him perform with some shoes sometimes. He reminds me of that guy from Killer Instinct, hes a barefooter too, never wears em, not even when he was on some talk show on national tv. Hell ya! They were givin him shit for it too.
i don't know why the gap thing is such a big deal, unless she has claimed to be an anti corporation eco type. just because you believe its wrong doesn't mean others do (like you didn't know that )
I actually do like her music. As for the white stripes cover, I actually like it. I can't be alone here? Anyway, i've seen he rin interviews, and she's a really nice, polite, shy girl. She seems really cool to me.
God Bless her. She's pretty. She's talented. She hates wearing shoes to the degree that I've shot her walking into red carpet events (I hate shooting that crap by the way) and she dressed very elegantly, with poise and grace, and the two times I shot her, she had no shoes around her at all, prancing in gorgeously barefoot. I'm a fan of hers just for that.
i would like to see a barefoot celebrity do the wandering around in a big fountain thing, full on gown, no shoes, etc. Peace
