hello forum. i used to visit here along time ago... one thing ive noticed is that there are more 'hippies' divided over the use of psychoactive substances. used to be any kid thought they were close to the themes of counterculture were cool with experimentation... now the new 'hippy values' include general jollyness and do-goodness. In times the hippies forget some of their central themes of liberation one must ask if the movement has become a label for good humanitarianism vs. the rebellious faction it used to be. Anyone here familiar with Leary, Ginsburg, Huxley?... etc.. in my research i find it suprising many new members of the liberal countercultural force abhor drug use. it's drug conisseurs who organized the movement to begin with. it's warped states of conciousness which produced a good chunk of the music. whether you do it or don't do it.. i don't see why you should dislike it. disliking it helps support the status quo attitude of keeping it locked up in jail. the reason i left here the first time was because i got in trouble with the law for drugs. i was considered a 'hippy' and i gave many spliffs and trips away for cheap prices or even free... i proposed interesting thoughts to people who i spent my trips with, but when i got caught i got treated like a terrorist. in simple terms i feel very disgusted with the state of treatment i as well as many others have recieved... i've read and i've learned more about the world now. our youth needs to support freedom and allow us to adjust our conciousness as sees fit!
I don't know what happened.. I used to be one of those "Old" members. I must agree with you, the forums have changed drastically. I can't even decide wether or not phsycoactive supplements are even noticed around here. I'm very familiar with Leary, Ginsburg, and so on. Seems like everyone on the side of Leary doesn't know a damn thing under the sun. I can't agree with anyway the law seems fit for people like you and I. Me too have had my run in with the Police. They seem to like me I don't know, I'm clean and can't give my 2 cents anymore. I feel like if I don't do those "Things" I can't say a word. I think most of the sober hippies just go along but some really do seem to want to punish the "drug abusing" type. I in no way support the law and in no other circumstances will I ever. I don't really care anymore because I'm clean but I think a lot of young hippies are with me on this one, they just don't care. Most have not had the experience with them and most who have, have had the same circumstances as I. They have had the law down their back and have now become clean.
only bad thing i got from 'drugs' was a bad rep... some people wouldnt even talk (or look ) to me cause i was a 'stoner' or because i might get THEM to 'abuse' drugs... no run ins with the law... i dont count close calls tho... and the law is flawed man, damn prudes...
I like weed... shrooms sometimes, you know, if it's the right place, right time, right people, but music is the hardest drug I'll ever be under the influence of.
it's your brain, do with it what you like, just don't drive while you're tripping and don't interfere w\ other peoples lives and Go for it your brain
i suppose in todays times, our world has become so strange that it, by itself, is comparable to a 60s LSD trip. High levels of madness in any form -- whether it be through a drug or through interaction with society, promotes new thought and revolution. hopefully the youth generation has seen enough mainstream madness to compell them to change it without the aid of psychedelics... However, my concern is that few new progressives even know about conciousness expansion or how it could be utilized into a new science, instead of a crime. Part of living outside the box is seeing outside the box, and to see outside the box you must first see beyond the lies within the box.... prohibition is an illogical system the closeminded thinker is tricked into believing is noble.
Personally, I'm all about testing the mind will tools. These tools just happen to be mind altering substance. So, arrest me, Mr. Occifer.
