I dont know if you know what i am talking about, but you know how some people have like spots on their teeth that are like really white and stand out, it makes their teeth look cruddy. Some people get them from braces, well, my teeth have never had those, but recently every once in a while i will look in the mirror and see them on my front teeth. But they arent permanent they go away by the next day or even in a few hours.
I was just wondering if anybody knew what caused these nasty marks? i noticed i got them once after eating skittles, but i havent eaten them since and i still get them. My dentist said flouride can help them to go away, anybody know what else can make them go away? i just hate having those damn marks on my teeth and have no clue why they just pop up every so often. o ya i got my braces off a month ago and dont remember this happening before i got them on. hmm.

Could be from several things. Too much flouride is one. Taking Tetracycaline as a child is an other. Also high fevers when your teeth were developing, when you were a baby can cause these as well. Some people even think that if your mama got too much of any of these things while she was pregnant with you, if can cause this problem.

Were you, by chance, in the vicinity of Europe at the time of the Chernobyl meltdown?

The reasons you said seem to be things that would cause permanent white marks on teeth, or that you would have them all your life, right? maybe i am thinking wrong, but since i have never had them in 19 yrs, and all the sudden i get them, could it be something i am doing? because even when i get them now, they dont stay permanently, right now my teeth are perfectly clear of it, but it will come back like once or twice a week and stay for a day, heh not even a day, like, an afternoon.

Maybe if its the flouride should i change my toothpaste? All toothpaste is flouride i thought, so any ideas? I have been using that vanilla mint toothpaste and now that i think about it this started around that time...maybe thats it?

I get that too on my front teeth, usually in the morning it seems. It's weird because it's not there every morning and I can't pinpoint anything I'm doing differently that causes them to show up when they do. So I'm curious about this too.

They are temporary? I'm sorry, I read that wrong the first time. Boy, I have no idea what is causing it. Try changing your toothpaste, see if this helps.

It could be something to do with sugar. I would get white gunk on the base of my teeth when I used to drink mountain dew all the time....it was apparently caused by the high sugar content.

I get one every once in awhile on my front tooth as well. The first time it happened I immediately thought of the white spots I used to get on my fingernails when I was younger. My aunt once told me it was from too much calcium. Not sure how true that is though. But I do eat a lot of cereal.

My dentist said my white spots were where I had recently had plaque removed - maybe it's just teeth recovering from random gunk on there too long?

I also have a few of these...one big one right on my left front tooth & a few elsewhere. They aren't killing me so I don't worry about it.
