I can't wait to see WSP and Dinosaur Jr. and whover else (there are so many!) I was planning on seeing WSP at Deer Creek, but the Lolapalooza thing works out for my wife and kids to get to stay in a hotel in downtown Chicago rather than a campground in Indiana (wife likes to camp, but not at shows). She is really pumped about seeing...Billy Idol? aw shit Also Umphrey's McGee is playing Naperville Ribfest on July 4 and it appears that it might be a free show because the website says no admisssion after a certain time. Plus, fireworks! BSC Tour will be most economical in Milwaukee at Summerfest because it will only be $12 to get in. Yeah there is tighter security and less of an open vibe, but it is a cool place to see bands. I saw NMA and Wilco there a couple of years ago and me and my wife went there for our honeymoon to see Cheap Trick (hey, were Midwestern children of the 70's, what else could we do?) For those going to Lollapalooza, who are you most excited about seeing? For Chicagoans, what's happening in the Grant Park area? Any good restaraunts where I can take my kids (2 and 13) besides the usual fast food crap? I'm familiar with the Lincoln Park area but I haven't spent too much time around Grant Park and we don't want to have to cab or drive anywhere once were settled into the hotel (Congress Plaza). Thanks for all responses.
