hey there, I'm not sure where you got your info, but the directions for nationals are in another thread around here, not Mt. Shasta, but acctually near the cali/nevada border. As far as international gatherings, I haven't heard anything about Colorado, but there is a gathering in quebec in august, is that maybe what you meant? I have little to no info on that, and now it looks like I'm not gonna be going, but it should be an amazing gathering.

good luck on finding kids to hitch with, I think just about everyone has left already.

    luvin' ya :)

Hi hi. I'm still here, will be leaving on the 22nd. Anyhow, the gathering is at Bear camp flat in the souther part of the modoc national forest near the towns of Madeline, likely, and Alturas. Head north on I 395 from Reno Nevada and you will end up in Alturas. From there you can probably ask directions. Or better yet find the Modoc on a map and go there and ask for Bear camp flat.

We still haven't left yet. We're still deep in our RV conversion of a box van. Yesterday we installed a water system (quite a challenge when you try to cobble RV parts to home plumbing parts), a window in the front of the box, and today we start wiring, skylights, stove hood vent, bike racks, propane tank rack and finish the biodiesel converter. We wont get it all done today. We're the kind of crazy hippies who like to teach people what we've learned as soon as we learn it, so in two days we're holding a biodiesel workshop, and I've never made the stuff in my life, haven't even finished the processor. But it''l work. Then after the fuel's ready on Wednesday, we leave.

And by the way, it appears on my map that the gathering is in the Lassen National Forest, but I could be wrong.

I think the names overlap somehow. The Lassen might be part of the Modoc

I just looked at the Lassen national forest web site. Gathering is NOT in the Lassen. Lassen is a little south of the gathering site whcih is in the Modoc forest.

the "inner circle"? um, okay. This isn't some secret brother hood we're talking about here. The closest thing to an international garthering that I have heard of is the Turtle island World Gathering in Western Qubec in August. I don't mean to seem rude, but your "inner circle" buddy looks to have been leading you wrong.

Hey raven, how are you converting the box van? My boyfriend wants to do the same thing, but I'm still kinda pushing for a bus, I'd love to see what you guys are doing with the box van! My main concern is not having enough light, but it sounds like you've found a way around that. Good luck, and let me know about it if you get the time!

hey Molly, how's it going? You gotta come by our kitchen at nationals. we just got kicked down 11 cases of this freezedried food (leftover from Y2K rations) so we'll be able to cook non-stop. Sounds gross, but it's healthy, hippie camper/survivalist food.
Anyway, letting in light was one of the main goals of the conversion. We cut holes in the aluminum box and installed windows and skylights (found a cool RV salvage guy in Albuquerque, spent half a day in his yard going through his junk), and we cut a pass-through from the cab of the truck into the box and that gives up plenty of daylight. And when you're parked you can throw the whole back door open and voila. These past couple days have involed a lot of cutting, wiring, installing water system. Our truck has one of those attics over the cab that we use as our bed; a must for box van conversions. Buses are cool, but a box van is smaller and easier to drive. Buses are harder to turn than 18 wheelers. But buses are cheaper and more plentiful. Make sure you get a diesel and I'll teach you how to make biodiesel. Oh yeah, and I got a shitload of pictures of the conversion to download when I get home. I'll post some.

Hey Chris! everything here is going pretty well, just getting ready to quit my job and head to the gathering, how about you and your fiance? that would be awsome to see pics of the truck! We're definatly going diesel when we get our bus or truck so we can convert it. That's some pretty cool stuff, I'm thinking my man may be right about the box truck thing, but we'll see which one works out. It's prolbably a while away anyway, he's got some bills to get paid off before we can get one. I'll definatly come by your kitchen, what's it gonna be called? Michelle and I were joking at wildflower that we were gonna be health inspectors at the gathering, just cause there are so many kitchens without handwashes and dishwashes, so you may get a visit from us, lol. Speaking of Michelle, did she email you? I guess she hadn't heard you were getting married till I told her at wildflower, so she wasn't too happy that you hadn't told her, but Greg pointed out that they hadn't checked thier email in about 3 weeks, sorry if I got you in trouble though!

anyway, I'll talk to you soon and see you at nationals!

    luvin ya!

I was wondering why I haven't heard from them. I emailed them photos and an invitation. Last I saw you you didn't have a fella, did you? Hey, did you hear the fuzz are cracking down at the gathering site? Word is they want to close it down tomorrow and they will be setting up roadblocks and searching vehicles.

We've gone way off topic here, but it looks like everyone else is one their way to nationals and we have almost a private forum.

The kitchen is called WINDRIFT Sacred Nourishment Kitchen. WINDRIFT is the name of our travelling ministry. Kristy and I are ordained ministers in the Universal Life Church (same as Greg) and licenced to perfom marriages. (I just got my ordination confirmation today) Another ULC minister is performing our wedding. Kristy's ex-husband, actually, but it's not as weird as it sounds. You have to know the.

No, I didn't have a man last time I saw ya, acctually, it's a very new relationship, we met on here like 4 months ago, and then he drove from Arizona (where he lives right now) memorial day weekend and gave me a ride to wildflower, and we pretty much just fell for eachother. It's pretty funny, cause normally talking about buying a bus or anything with anyone, especially after 3 weeks of a relationship would scare the hell out of me, but with Yehoshua it doesn't, it feels right somehow, so we'll see.

yeah, that'd be why you hadn't heard from Greg and Michelle, I need to call them today to let them know when I think we're heading to the gathering, we had talked about heading there together, but they may already be there. Is there anything you want me to tell/ask them for you? I hadn't heard about the feds, but that's good to know, let me know if you hear anything else. Do you think that means everyone won't be able to get to it? I will definatly stop by your kitchen, that's so cool that you're ordained now! It's also very cool that her ex is preforming the marriage, it's always nice when a relationship ends comfortably enough to do that. I'll talk to you soon, and I'll let you know what Greg and Michelle say if I get to talk to them, much love and many blessings!

I'm glad to hear that all is well chris and we will be arriving at the gathering in about 5 days. of course we will be in bus village, or at kid village. I hope to find you and just at least say HI, it is definantly cold at the spot, so Pleeeaaase everyon be prepared.
