It has come to my attention... Hehe.. ok.. just a question for the people here.. is RT for you the place where you open yourself more than in RL because it's more anonymous or do you keep important stuff to yourself as well because you fear that the wit- and flame-happy folks that we are might not take you very seriously? Like.. that you don't share things although you'd like to because you are afraid you'll get flamed? Just wondering.
I give hints about my mood and what's going on but I won't ever post an actual problem on here anymore. Not in RT, anyway!
I have no secrets. As far as I am concerned, if my history and my attitude are a problem, people can put me on ignore.
I come to Random Thoughts because of the spontaneity. I rather enjoy reading threads on a wide variety of subjects, some light-heartedness, some more emotional out pours, but all-in-all, I just enjoy the vast amount of topics that are brought up. Keeps things interesting. As far as the posting goes, yes, I admit that there are times when I refrain from posting because I don't want to get bombarded with some of the negativity that goes on, or flamed for something I might believe, whether right or wrong. But that's life, we are all different people, we all have our own opinions, and we all can't be positive and happy-go-lucky individuals.
What does it matter what the topic of a thread is? If some asshole is posting gibberish in it, it's annoying.
Sure, I'll agree with you there, but how would it be able to be stopped? I'm not asking that in a sarcastic way at all, I'm just wondering if there's a solution that might lessen some of that garbage besides banning, because they can always come back as another identity, right? So even when they are banned, they can still sign up with another ID, so they can still come back around doing the same old crap? It's a free speech forum, so there's not much one can do besides ignoring those in the threads who post the gibberish really. Pay it no mind, skip over those posts, and read on.
i mainly just show up to blow off my bad attitude. you people don't actually matter to me, so it's the best place for it.
I agree it's annoying. Sometimes (most times) I post serious stuff in Random Thoughts only because most of my friends are here. I do get annoyed though when I am looking for serious responses and someone pops in talking fucked up talk. There are plenty of threads for those. Maybe I just need to lighten up. I don't think there is a way of eliminating it. Free speech and all that shit...
Ok just got back. My thought.. there is a time and a place for everything.. and sometimes I have different hopes on the responses I was hoping to get when I feel down or sth.. but ah well.. that's the risk of being too serious in RT
well, really, people are going to respond however they feel like responding. you dont know what's going on in the mind of the poster; their mood, their beliefs, their blood alcohol level. if you don't like someone's resonse, ignore it. it's just a message board. we all have different reasons for posting here. some people get annoyed when a joking thread is interupted by a serious response. getting mad or annoyed by it is just silly.
I highly doubt there is a solution. This is the internet. Gibberish isn't about free speech. "kdhfakasd" is not an opinion or thought or feeling. Basically, you just wait until the children have had their cheap thrill and go away.
i like to post my life problems in RT...the people there are kind and help guide me thru life....with out there input i would have become i successful billionair.....who needs that
unless, perhaps, it's their personal statement that they believe the topic matter and responses are gibberish undeserving of higher thought or respect.
