I was just wondering how many people liked American Idiot??? Weither you liked it or not what are your thoughts on it.. i liked it a lot i thought it was probly one of their best cd's
I don't think it was there best but it was ok the only problem i had with it was the fact that it was overplayed so much on vh1 and the radio
Pop-"punk" crap... maybe if they would've tried to sound different than all their previous albums and all other pop-"punk" and emo bands making crap today, it woulda been interesting... the theme was cool though, you don't see many rock operas today. Green Day is quite possibly the most overrated band to ever make music. They are not doing anything new and lack greatly in the creative and guitar-playing department.
I had mixed thoughts on that album. I think they went in a new direction on some tracks and I just didn't like it. Some songs are great, some aren't good at all,IMO. This is the first time I have ever not liked the complete album with Green Day.
what is played on the radio is utter SHIT... it's nothing new. it's simple, repetitive and unoriginal, and begging for your dollars. at least thats what i think when i hear it. i like the anti-bush message, though, but oh well. i haven't heard much of the rest of the album, altho i swear ive seen a burned copy of it around the house. i'll check it out someday...some..day...
i think the album was ok when i first herd it but then when i actually read the back story to the album the actually opera story i liked it more and understood it a lot better.. American Idiot Story Tell me what you think
I find it pretty hilarious yet rather sad at the same time that a sessionman wrote and played the solo for 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams".
i haven't heard it, but i liked their song that came on the radio. i think it was called blvd. of broked dreams. i think dookie is a good album. green day is an ok band, although i don't consider them punk.
So far, everything I've heard from Green Day has sucked so much dick its pathetic. Nothing worse than an American band trying to sound like a British band who thinks thier American. What losers. They might as well have saved thier time on this one as well as god knows how many others.
i never bought a green day album b4 this one, so I really have nothing to compare it to. I just heard "american idiot" on the radio and went out to buy it. I didnt' like the cd at all at first....now I really do like it. some songs are repetitive of eachother, which is boring, but there's a few good ones on there, too.
I dont have any 'greenday' cd's and I cant place songs with the bands to say the least so I may like some of the other songs they play only dont know it is them singing. Only know I 'did' like the song released 'Blvd of Broken Dreams' came out, only I knew it would be the song the radio would play every 20-minutes and stuff. I need a break from that song. The Radio people are making me not like it anymore.
I like maybe two songs off it...I hate the pop-punk sound they've adopted. Ack. Good Charlotte may sell, but that doesn't make them good or respected and Green Day should not take the same route.
