Should Woman Be Allowed to Use Child Support as Additional Income??

Should women be allowed to use child support as additional income??

As it currently stands, women can declare the court ordered child support amount as additional income when it comes to buying a car or a home. This however, does not mean that the woman is actually receiving these funds just that she is entitled to receive this amount in child support funds.

hey, i work hard, take care of my daughter, have court appointed child support that i dont get...but when i bought my car, i claimed that i did, because i get it from time to time...a couple weeks here, then 5 months off...
if my credit is good and i am still going to pay the bills then why would it matter if i dont get the entire amount that i am claiming. if i dont claim it and i do end up getting it on a regular bases than i am screwed too. so why penalyze the woman..its not her fault the man isnt paying.
this question actually makes me shake my head as i dont understand why it makes a difference

well i agree with marie.

 

i understand people think its child support and should all go to the child. i agree. however, transportation is a must, housing is a must...all of these things are part of supporting the child...not just clothes and diapers and food.

 

until i read maries posts I was gonna say "heck no" but she makes a really valid point. I mean if I go an try and finance a car or what not, I am not going subtract the child support I pay from the total I tell the car dealer dude. I have it sent automatically, and hence never see any of it so its pretty much not income in an instance in which I am trying to get a loan.

 

The mother of my neice recently claimed that my bil didn't ever pay child support. (he was dumb and didn't get signed receipts) So his paycheck has been garnisheed 50% for the past year or so. (my neice is 16 now)

Her mother used the money to get breast implants. She also has 2 other children by 2 other men.

 

I dont know what Lucy does with my payments but my daughter has everything she needs except her daddy, and it the choice I made that keeps me from her today...but in 17 days..............I am gonna see her!!!!!!!

exactly. it's income. if it helps to have a car to be able to go to work to support kids- why the fawk not????!!!!
