I have my own ideas about Starbucks, but in a conversation I had with some friends a while ago, they said some stuff that made me wonder. So I'm comnig to ask you guys. What do you all think of Starbucks? Good or Bad?
haha I just found out about 15 minutes ago that they put a starbucks in our local grocery store which is a little wierd cause its a really quaint little store I mean not like puny but its not a big city I'm living in I hate that kind of thing you know but maybe there is a good reason for it.... I doubt it I'm just trying to look on the bright side of things
I don't know much about starbucks, in terms of facts...I just have my oppinions. And I always choose a small coffee shop instead of Starbucks. I just never have really found a Starbucks that I like the vibe in. I should do some more research...they put a Starbucks in a quaint little store? Wierd..
mmmh...I love starbucks. Dunken Donuts has good coffee too. Especially those coollattas. ooh soo good!
I'd rather go to a good indy owned coffeeshop anyday. It's not so processed and pre-packaged. Starbucks creeps me out.
I love Starbucks. We have a few local coffee shops, but to be honest, they're kind of icky. One doesn't serve ice coffee or frappucinos and I haaaate hot drinks so that's a downer, and the other puts way too much sugar in the frappucinos. The Starbucks I go to is nice and quiet and they don't care how long my gang sits around studying. There's a big couch we all take up and lay around on as long as there's no one else there (which there normally isn't since most people either use the drive thru or pop in and out. Also, right next door is Atlanta Bread Company which is a chain of restaurants in the Atlanta area that is amazingly good. When I'm in for a study marathon, that's where I head. I get my eat, drink, and study on all at once.
Well, all the indy coffee shops that I've gone to here in Portland so far have been good ones. I'm sure there are some yucky ones out there, but I have yet to find them. I think Starbucks has some yucky stuff, too.
I think actually the more indy ones around here are just smaller chains. Is Caribou Coffee a chain? That's where all my friends go and the one that I think is too sugary. Then we have Jittermugs but there are two around my town so that's probably a smaller chain too... In THAT case we have no indy coffee places.
Caribou Coffee is a huge chain in the midwest, I'm not sure if it is on the east coast. I've definitely never seen one in Seattle... but then again...
I can make my own too... but I can't make my own caramel frapuccino with whipped cream in a justifiable about of time. Plus every time I've tried, it comes out too strong on the coffee, and I hate strong coffee. I do make a mean iced chai though.
I don't really understand why anyone would buy from there, I mean $4 for a coffee? Take 5 min out of your life and $4 can buy enough coffee at the store to make like 20 cups of coffee
LOL...I mean sure they have their speciality drink stuff...but for a house coffee, you can bet I'm gonna pick indy place or make it myself most of the time.
I've worked in a bakery that served the same type of coffee drinks as Starbucks so i'm able to make most of their drinks at home... and fraps with my little blender I don't mind Starbucks. It is expensive but I don't really have a personal problem with going there. My friend refuses to go there. She will go to the Coffee Bean instead. She has really has something against them, but I know other people who feel the same way. But I will admit that it gets annoying to see a Starbucks everywhere I turn.
i heard that Starbucks gives a certain percentage of its profits to Israel (and Israelians go kill off Palestinians). Most of my friends quit going there after hearing that. but anyways, 'Tim Horton's' and 'Second Cup' in Canada rocks! =D
Some 'nice' stories about starbucks.. http://www.guardian.co.uk/ethicalbusiness/story/0,14713,1247586,00.html http://www.guardian.co.uk/wtccrash/story/0,1300,593043,00.html Any company that is not owned by 'ma' and 'pa' always gets the grief..funding 'terrorists' sorry israelians of some kind (whatever that means).. thats like saying Michael jackson abuses kids .
Aisha, you and your friends are hearing wild rumors, and running with them like weak minded fools. Starbucks is a great company. They treat their employees very well, with full health benefits, and a stock purchase plan that even extends to part-timers
