is there any other printmakers on the site? i would love to talk more about it with someone..i'm new at it but having a wonderful time.
well, i'm going to take printmaking in the fall at goshen college... i just realized i should be an art major so now i'm learning about art. but i think i'm going to like it. sorry i'm not quite what you were looking for, but at least i know what printmaking is!
i don't do it as of yet, but my course at uni i'm going to do will teach me it.. so when i'm more educatted on the subject i'll look you up for sure!
well there are diffrent kinds..wood blocks, engravings, colographys, lithos....it just depends..but you basically ink up a plate you have made a run it through a press..i'll tell more later..i have to go now.
we're doing printmaking at school right now, still working on our designs though. we're drawing japanese landscapes, photocopying them, and then ironing the images onto a woodblock. then we're carving the non-black parts out with some kind of knife and then.. well i can't remember the rest but i'm looking forward to doing it!
