Anyone planning to go the the summer solstice at Stonehenge? It something Iv always wanted to do but its yet to happen. Its really due to lack of wheels and I suppose planning. It always gets talked about but never happens. So.. is there anybody from the north west who wants to go or is going? and maybe we could sort something out. PM me or just send me a email. Cheers Si
me and fleassy went last year, it was so over the top and commercial, the only real highlight was the morning after a band was jammin in the carpark, but it was just too much, thousands of people and police, avebury is gunna be my bet for thsi year much more chance of an enjoyable time. but hey man if you go hope you enjoy it
I wont be at stone henge and i'm double thinking avebury. Because its my birthday i guess it woulod be nice to see my family as its been a long time since i have, also we are off to canadas a few days after. Though knowing me i will be at avebury anyway. My birthday isnt all that special just an excuse to see my daddy really.
Would like to, but I've commited to taking some peolple to Glasto from Yorkshire on the Wednesday so logistics aren't looking good. We'll see *ponders* What day are you planning on going down?
if you are wanting a party and a piss up with loads of townies and cops then go to stonehenge. if you are wanting something a bit more peaceful and chilled with a better atmosphere and less hassle then go to avebury. stonehenge is way over rated. i've done both a couple of times now and would never do stonehenge at the summer again, though i'd quite like to go for a winter or equinox. stonehenge is very strictly regulated and they tell you where to go, when to go and then throw you out pretty quickly at the end of it all (you get roughly 24 hours i think). you can chill at avebury for quite a while before they ask you politely to leave. peace and love stardust xxx
there plenty of other stone cicles you can go to, we went to one near inverurie in scotland for last summer solstice. it was just our gathering, there and it quite an intimate group. if you all take musical instuments and pillows and food then you'll all be in for a pretty cushtii evening! happy circle hunting!
