The British power trio Cream just gave 4 great concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in London, May 2, 3, 5th and 6th, 2005. They originally formed in July of 1966 and gave their farewell concert in November of 1968. But in the short time they were together, and with 4 albums they defined both rock and heavy music forever. Virtually every band was influenced by Cream. In the audience for this show were spotted: Rager Daltry, Tom Hanks, Steve Winwood, Brian May, Roger Waters,Paul McCartney, Mick Taylor, Bill Wyman, Val Kilmer, Bryan Adams, Alice Cooper, Jimmy Page, Ringo Starr, Leonard Nimoy with his Spock haircut, etc. So once again we find that the hippie generation has not really died or burned out...but these flower children have just re-seeded themselves again. WHAT AN EVENT. Check out the reviews and listen to the tunes, the bootlegs are already out: http://messageboards.cream2005.com/eve/
i didnt really know much about cream, id only ever heard sunshine of your love and i feel free and i saw they had a new best of album out and i got it and i love it! its sooo cool im hooked on it! shame i was too late for the reunion gig lol
Ginger fucking Baker... best damn drummer I've ever heard, well, a lot of people will debate Moon, Bonham, and Mitchell... I prefer Ginger. Cream is really the only band Ginger has done rock stuff in, he mostly sticks to Jazz, but jesus christ, he's probably one of the most respected living musicians there are, and he runs a country club in Colorado or something nowadays, or so I heard... haha. IMO, Cream is the best three piece group to date.
