oh geez...here we go again. I'm a North Carolinian, and I'm not remotely surprised. I suppose it is his right, it's his church...but it's frustrating as hell. If I were one of the ex-communicated (which I most definitely would be) I'd be glad for an excuse out of the place.
41 protesters that left, not 40. I left out of protest prematurely, under the understanding that a situation like this would eventually happen.
"its the word of god" Where does it say "excommunicate people for not supporting a war criminal" in the bible ?
well, somewhere in there it says that if you beat your slave and he dies within three days, it's murder, but if he dies more than three days later (still as a result of the beating) it's murder. Also says in there somewhere that if you lie with a woman on her period, you are unclean and you aren't allowed to be around people for a week. Weird laws
I read that in local and state this morning and was like Aparently the people returned and the rest of the church changed their attitudes. now they are all tlking like the only way to get the church back o wer eit shgould be is for the pastro to leave. I wonder if i can find what was printed in our paper on the net.
probably saw the negative publicity...don't want to be seen for who they are 8-| And Zoomie, I think you've already tainted the public, which is the point. Looks like you're going to hell
Yeah, if there were such a place it would certainly be my future home. But since there isn't I think I'll have another beer!
thats crap. god dosent even care about earthly goverments( hes going to destroy them any way so why should he.)
people need to stop listening to these backwood ministers...isn't it obvious that they aren't "closer to god" unless being close to god causes the brain to operate at half capacity. Really offensive, and should be condemned by anyone who cares about the integrity of Christianity (which I don't)
seamonster, I've known a fair number of 'backwoods ministers' in my time. And not a one of them would condon this one's actions. Some of them wouldn't sit at the same table with him. This is too narrow a canvas for such a broad brush.
