you can more easily recover from physical pain. BUT. you can refuse to feel emotional pain. its a draw in my book.
Emotional pain... no matter how hard I try I cant ignore Emotional Pain... But I can disassociate myself from physical pain....
It really depends. If I were to get my arm chopped off it would hurt a lot more than breaking up with a boyfriend. I'm not easily hurt emotionally, though.
"It really depends. If I were to get my arm chopped off it would hurt a lot more than breaking up with a boyfriend. well that's the thing, im sure people that went thru TRUE physical pain (ive had my times but not as bad as others) would say physical. all relative. they both HURT!
for me, emotional pain hurts WAY more. physical pain is far easier for me to deal with, and does not scare me at all. but seeing a loved one die, or be horribly injured......... that totally terrifies me.
Physical pain because you can be in so much pain that you go crazy or even just pass out and die but with emotional pain all you can do is cry more. Do You See!?
These are some of the worst physical pains I have felt: A five day migraine headache. Dislocating my shoulder, and then popping it back in. A tooth abcess. Shingles Appendicitis A very swollen, fluid filled infection Getting struck hard in the groin. Sunburnt nipples. Road rash. Broken bones. Hitting a toe or finger so hard you lose the nail. I would prefer experiencing all of those at once to some of the emotional pains I have felt.
did you really feel the need to compose a list of the most painful scenarios and make us read through them?
have they ever done studies on what happens when pain just increases? like, if it reaches a limit and you just go numb after or something?
well for two days i couldnt sleep cause i could hardly sit down...laying down, outta the question still i would take that easier.
Thank you, I appreciate it. I only replied no to his question cuz I felt no need to post it, I just felt like it, and wanted to give an idea of what kinds of physical pains I have felt. Shingles, dislocated shoulder, and tooth abcesses were pretty intense, but the 5 day migraine I had was probably the worst, i was begging for death at times.... luckily I didn't get my wish. I have never had an appendage torn off, but from talking with those who have, it sounds like it is not as painful as some other things. I wonder what other people's worst physical pains have been, like for example, what kinds of physical pains has colours endured?
