I think it is great to talk to kids, little ones as well as teens. I have four kids and they all have dreams.

What do your kids want to do with their lives? It doesn't have to be realistic, but every kid has something they want to do with their lives.

Sage (age 4) In her words: "I want to have a studio, I will make paintings, and have a doorbell, when little children ring my doorbell, I will give them a painting. Oh, and I wanna be a mama, too."

Lennon (age 12): He "I want to go into medicine, probably gynecology." Oh, boy. Hey, he's twelve!

Moon (age 15): Very badly wants to go into Veternary medicine. She says she doesn't really want to have kids "too much work and I want to have time to do my carreer full time and travel." She says she wants to be an "Animal Lactation Specialist." She is very good with animals, but doesn't want to take A&P because of the dissection. She also writes well. Perhaps she will be an author. Lots of Potter and LOTR influence at this time.

Sunshine (age 18): Wants to go into graphic design. She (as well as Moon) draws very well, and won an award this year from the Chicago Youth Media Center for a film she made. She says she wants to maybe study Nutrition and maybe become a Dietician, and after she has kids, maybe go into Lactation Consulting.

What do your kids want to do?

wow sounds like ur kids are wonderful guys,

Croix is obsessed with cars...everything is a car or dog to him. Hes constantly playing with cars, making noises and pretending to fix them. So, right now my guess is a mechanic? or a race car driver??? lol Just my guess since hes only almost 2...
Recently though I was confronted by a modeling agency that thinks Croix could do some stuff. I think it would be cute but I don't want to make him do things he might not enjoy or like so I don't know, I'm still deciding. I'm not trying to steriotype or anything but I'm not sure I want him growing up being a model or actor because they sometimes end up not the most sound/sane people after a while, I don't want him materialistic and in it for the money... you know?

Dakota hasn't said much, probably because he's not quite 2 yet. However, I think he's going to be a ball player. DH and I are pretty much anti sports. Not because there's anything wrong with sports but we find them boring and a waste of time. Dakota however has a fascination with swinging things. He will take anything, a soda bottle, a branch, anything he can find. He chokes up on it like you would a bat and swings for all he's worth. No one ever showed him how to hold a bat, he just figured it out. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if someday he's in the World Series. (That's the right one right?? The little round white ball??)

    Totally sports illiterate,

My 4 year old said, a while back, that when she's grown up, like about 7, she wants to get a dog, have a baby, be a doctor/astronaut/teacher and a princess and maybe get a husband.

I told her that it might be a good idea to start with the dog. At least while she's going to astronaut/princess school. Then the family.

The funny thing is, her sister will be 7 in a couple of weeks. Does she think her sister is grown up?

The almost-seven-year-old has always wanted to be a veterinarian.

They both have also announced that they may someday run for president. They have asked that my mom and I vote for them.

Now if only I could figure out once and for all what I really want to be when I grow up. Oh, well. I'm only going on 31.

Whatever the 4 year old turns out to be, I have a feeling it will involve bossing people around. In fact, unless this is just a phase (Oh, Dear God, please let this be a phase.), she won't be content unless she really is a princess.

My 10 year old wants to be a lawyer, she has said this for at least 6 years. Before that she wanted to be a dentist because she liked to look in people's mouths when she was really little. One cavity of her own and she was off to law school :) I don't know what my little guy will be. He's really interested in the guitar,he strums at it and "sings" ( he is 16 months old) He's also so big for his age we are pretty sure he'll be a large guy when grown up so maybe he has some heroic reason for being so big, like he'll be a fireman and rescue people. I dunno. I haven't even figured out what I want to be when I grow up,ya know ;)

My brother is 15 and his current ambition is to be a chief. He's doing work experience as a catering assistant at an old peoples home and loves it.
Before that he wanted to be a garderner, but went off that idea after realising garderners work outside in lousy weather.

When I was ten I wanted to be an actress, singer or vet. Then realised I can't act, won't sing [in public] and don't like blood. LOL

So my current career plan is to be a writer. Novels, screenplays, magazine articles I'm not fussed.
I've been writing since I was about ten, it's an obsession. Apparently I'm good at it too. :)
I'd also like to have a medium sized family and care for lots of rescued animals.

Brian, age 14, wants to be a chocolatier. He's very creative and artistic and likes to cook. Anyone in Miami area who's a chocolatier and would like an apprentice? He's willing and works hard! LOL!

Maya, age 13, wants to be a dancer. She's wanted that since she was 7 or 8.

Daniel, age 9, hasn't decided yet.

Clarissa, age 8, wants to be a midwife like her Mama. She's always nagging me about when I can start taking her to births with me! She already goes to prenatal home visits with me and loves it. That girl can watch birth videos all day long.

My youngest is 4, and he wants to be Spiderman.

I guess my kids are weird... LOL

Well, last I discussed being something when he grows up, with my eldest... At the time I think he was 15... He wanted to be an assassin... He is now 16 and I'm not sure what he wants to be... He mentioned something about going into the Navy, but I think that was just to irk his hippy mom... :)

My youngest, now 12.5 wants to be a chef or a comedian. But he would be a Jeff Goldbloom type of comedian... Very cynical, rather dead-pan... He'd probably be a good chef, he loves food... :)

I don't have any children, but I have 4 younger siblings:

My sister (16) wants to go into law somehow. She's thinking of being a paralegal or something along those lines.

My brother (15) wants to be a sculptur. He's taking welding classes right now for that.

My brother (14) is thinking of going into the military or doing something with crime, like being an investigator.

My brother (9) wants to be a football player

If I'm lucky enough be a father someday, I would just want my kids to grow up to be happy. Whatever their occupational choice would be, doesn't really matter to me, I'd just want for them to be true to themselves and define their success based upon happiness, not title or compensation.
