...today when I found out how much it's gonna cost to fix my car than I did when I found out that my grandfather died. How fucked up is that? At some arbitrary point in my life, I decided that paying $1400 to get a car (that's probably not even WORTH that much) fixed is more important than someone's life. Jesus, what has happened to me?

    Blaaaaah.

Well Its understandable... Death is a part of Life and Lots of people deal with it very well... But Having to deal with cars breaking down sucks.... My boyfriends car just died He needs to replace the engine in it and still owes 3000 on the car itself.. He is very very upset... Its okay... Dont feel bad... It happens to everone

Hm... Never thought of it that way. My car was running fine on Sunday, and then on Tuesday, it wouldn't go for more than 5 minutes without black smoke pouring out of it. Damned Volkswagens.

I hope your boyfriend gets his car situation sorted out. I now officially know how badly it sucks to have a car mess up.... And wow, the engine? What kind of car did he get? It's crazy that it's new and the entire engine needs to be replaced! I should feel lucky to just need a new head gasket/water pump!

He has a Lumina Z34.... Basically The Timing belt broke (it happens you need to replace them on all cars) Well When it went it broke that valves and bent a piston in the engine... So Now the whole engine must be replaced... His car has a 1/10 chance of blowing the engine if the belt goes.. He was one of the lucky few... And How about timing.. We both just moved out of our parents house Laast month... An I bought a new computer 2 days before his car died.... It sucks.. It happens.. You will get you car fixed and life will go one....

My car broke for 3 months... well it took 3 different garages 3 months to figure out what was wrong with my jeep... One of them being the dealership that told me not to bring my car back again (cause they couldnt figure out how to fix it) .. I cried for weeks... I couldnt sleep.. It was horrible.. Im sure I cried more than when my grandmother died...

But we all make it through.. Just gotta roll with the punches... And good luck with your car

Wow, 3 months? I found a garage that'd work on it... But it was 20 minutes away and I couldn't afford a freaking tow truck. Sooo, I had to drive it there in the 80 degree heat, which definately didn't help my engine. It took me TWO HOURS to drive 15 miles, because I had to stop so often to keep the engine below the overheat-y mark and it STILL didn't do any good and I ended up melting some of the plastic in the engine. I'd be cool without it, but I live somewhere where it's hard to even walk to the grocery store (especially because the one where I shop is about 10 miles away, over interstate and all)

Hm.. Yanno, maybe it's just the mamas that are sobby about cars. My boyfriend's had a broken car for a while now and he doesn't even care (but, uh... He doesn't like his). I think I'm just so upset because the mechanic woke me up with a phone call to tell me that it'd cost more than 5 times the original quoted amount to fix it. Oh, happy days.

I think I'm going to play in the park... Maybe that'll help remind me why I don't need a car. There are so many beautiful things out there and driving around only ruins em, yanno? And hey, good luck figuring out your finances, what with the moving/car breaking/computer buying.
