Firefox! Damn, it's too good to be true. With it, I have become a super-efficient browsing machine. With my favorites easily accessible at the top of the window, a weather plugin at the bottom, a quick bar for wikipedia/google/dictionary searches, and adblock to remove annoying ads and large pictures on people's sigs... Amazing.

But from time to time I do use Lynx :p

I'm using Firefox at the moment. I have used it some before, but I'm just not familiar with all of it's features....it's taking me awhile to get used to it.

Opera, is the best browser by far! Firefox wouldn't be anything if it didn't take many ideas from Opera.

I've been writing software for almost 10 years. I have reviewed the firefox source, the source code is managed poorly, more security bugs are being introduced, and more will come. I promise.

I didn't like Opera. It was glitchy for me. Probably not it's fault though. I use Firefox.

    Firefox is junk.
Look at comparisions between all popular browsers.
    http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/browserSpeed.html

You will see that firefox is nothing special.

It's a mediocre browser hyped up by all the open source fan boys..

Perhaps you didn't read all of the article. Here's what it says in the summary.

"So overall, Opera seems to be the fastest browser for windows. Firefox is not faster than Internet Explorer, except for scripting, but for standards support, security and features, it is a better choice."

Firefox is better than the #1 most used browser in the world in the areas of scripting speed, standards, security, and features. I think that would make it NOT junk.

The article says Firefox is better than IE; that's obvious.

I was stating Firefox is junk as a comment to the previous commentee's post.
I have reviewed the Firefox source tree and it is indeed garbage code.
A lot of the original maintainers have retired from the project, the new maintainers will have a few obstacles.
(e.g. Dealing with uncommented code, re-writing linear based garbage code.)

IE and Firefox are both junk period.

Firefox uses a lot of in-efficient source code written in 1998, this code was likely not made for use in a public release.

The whole Firefox application is a bunch of abstraction layers which slow the whole program down.

XUL is slow and not practical!

Firefox does virtually nothing Mozilla doesnt already do better/faster, aside from a simplified user interface.

Firefox wouldn't have the success it has if it wasn't for Opera innovating a lot of the ideas. (Popup stopper, Tabbed browsing, mouse gestures, etc)

You should have been more specific in your first post. Your statement was very vague. You're not really telling me anything that I don't already know. It's kind of ironic that Firefox was supposed to be a faster, slimmed down version of Mozilla, but Mozilla is still the faster browser. Go figure. Anyways as I stated before, Opera is my preferred browser of choice. I just wish that it supported extensions because it has a very weak selection of plugins to choose from. The extensions are the only advantage that firefox has over Opera in my opinion, although I still don't think that it is junk. They might have got their ideas from Opera, but at least they are encouraging competition which will result in better browsers for all of us in the future.
