I dropped out of high school 5 years ago in grade 11... I entered the work force right away... and yes... it was not easy... i been starving i been hurting i've had addictions i had some shitty jobs.... but I had no choice but to push myself on... to survive....now at 21 i make decent living... my rents payed... my stomach is full AND I have a head full of weed every day and a stomach full of booze on my weekends.... basically... all i'm trying to get at... is THAT 5 YEARS LATER I'M WAY SMARTER THAN ALL THOSE ASSHOLES THAT WENT TO COLLEGE.... the school of hard knocks is a much more effective way of education... these people are 21 - 22 and still live with their PARENTS!!! they know nothing about how to find shelter, defend themselves, feed themselves ANYTHING ... they basically spent the last 5 years getting out of shape, to achieve a certificate.... THEN 9 / 10 people go on to get shitty jobs that has nothing to do with their education WASTE OF TIME... our colleges and universities HELL even our high schools and elementary schools are mass producing a bunch of PUSSIES with one thing on the mind... MONEY BUYS YOU HAPPINESS..... ha ha ha and to think all these dummies will go on with the knowledge that money buys happiness.... work their WHOLE lives on more education or better jobs or what have you to achieve this ultimate goal of RICHNESS by the time they're satisfied... which for most is NEVER life is over ... your 40 or some shit and your past your prime... ( and all you 40 year olds who say... "no i'm 40 and my life is still starting... QUIT BULLSHITING YOURSELF your a geezer basically waiting to die.... and did you enjoy your life... nope... because they didn't take the time to stop and smell the fuckin roses ... their minds were too preoccupied with achieving wealth.... HA HA but the best things in life can't be bought ... ... the best things in life can't be bought.... i'll be willing to bet that there's not ONE institute of higher education that teaches that...
fine, if you insist. yeah, you can do just fine without education, but statistically you are more likely to get a good job if you complete higher education. ok, so you are against people worshipping money too, then that's all the more reason to go to school. i'm 21, no i don't live with my parents, but my last 5 years were mostly pleasant and really, the best 5 years of my life, and yet i'm still living mostly on my own with minimal help from parent. don't get me wrong, there's really nothing wrong with what you've done, but to claim that your path is right and everyone else is an idiot or a pussy or whatever just shows that you are a closed minded piece of shit who obviously is infinitely less educated than a vast majority of people your age and younger
yes indeed, this thread could have been far more positive. Im sure most of the nice people wouldn't have minded having a conversation with you about how things worked out nicely but instead you turned it into why everyone elses choices are wrong...
5 years of college? Jesus, what schools are your friends going to? I only have to go for one year...then I get a job in my field, because theres such a shortage in Ontario.
I get to do shit in the army that I wouldn't be able to do on the outside as a civilian without proper certification. I joined the army right out of highschool and it put me ahead of the curve for a good while, but that curve is catching up quick, I plan on getting out and utilizing that free college money I'll be getting for putting up with 8 years of this bullshit....or maybe I'll just stay in. retiring at the age of 38 would be nice.
Heh. My dad stayed resere and they called his ass up. 48 year old man pulled from his family and good paying job to go sweat in Iraq. tis a shame.
he raised his hand and swore. you people that think that people can swear and not be held responsible make me sick.
ANYTHING Skilled trades. Theres a shortage in welders, pipefitters, heating/plumbing, millwrights, light mechanics & heavy equipment mechanics *which I'm going for.* I only have to go to school for 12 months straight. 2 of which is a PAID job placement at Caterpillar/Toromont, then once I get out...the hiring rate is 100% in Southern Ontario. The average wage is around $115,000 for a skilled tradseman. I'm looking at about $80K my first year.
