Which genre is everyone here best at writing? I write rock, folk, and a bit of blues, but I always like the way my folk songs turn out the best. I would also like to write jazz, but I have no background in jazz guitar!!
well its not really for an artist to say what they are best at imo, more about what is most comfortable or preferable. caus thats what a songwriter will usually write i guess i dont even know what genre my stuff falls under, its just music. i think my frineds class it like 60's psych. i dunno really
I'm best at writing words that rhyme. Rhyming is so much fun... I used to write only pop songs but I am trying hard to get away from that crap.
I don't really write songs. :& I just riff a lot and jam blues leads and anything else bluesy really.. I need a songwriting partner to write while I fiddle around on the guitar! haha
Ha, I've been looking for one too... not very seriously tho, or I prolly would have found my Keith Richards for my Mick... me being Mick.
Hmm... I never pictured the stones as good songwriters. I do jazz, folk-rock, alt-country, and blues.
paint it black was played a lot when i was a child i concluded, my dad prolly. for some reason the rockin bit after the slower 'and i want to paint it black' bits.. it jut strikes a chord of familiarity and enjoyment
I like them better than Lennon/McCartney... sure, they wrote a lot of crap after Exile, but who wants to write silly love songs anyway.
i focus on improvisational rock type stuff, but i do a lot of jazz, blues and folkrock type stuff too. it's all about not being able to really be defined by a single style tho
