Hi, everybody. I'm new here, and glad to have stumbled upon something called "old hippies." I guess I qualify (?) I'm 50, female, a hippie at heart surrounded by too many polar opposites of hippies in my life right now. We're talking s t r e s s city. Welcome to the family sister. For the most part we are all kind, peace loving, liberal non-conformist. But it is a public speach format too and from time to time you read some judgmental comments or just plain hateful remarks. It freaked me out at 1st but then I realized that diversity is what makes life interesting. Don't let the negativity bother you. Love to hear more from you. Taz.

Stress city is down here NYC, not cause of NYC but cause of slimesicko boss I just had a formal grievance against. (I'm told I "kicked his ass." It's not my intent to kick anyone's ass, but the guy was/is the definition of PIG, and I had to put in a formal grievance against his verbal abuse.) -Sorry if this is too much info, but the guy is the opposite of peace, love and harmony, so I thought I needed some hippie relief... The Hip Forums, with all its parts, is indeed a refuge, sanctuary, a place to share thoughts with kind, helpful, supportive, peace loving, liberal non-conformist, environmentally concerned folks. I very much suggest you explore the many areas in the forums. You'll probably find threads about subjects you are interested in, want to know more about, that you can learn from and/or contribute to. And if there's something you're interested in and you don't find a thread - start one. And it's comforting to know, you're not alone. Peace, poor_old_dad

It's hard not to be happy at a Schwagtock!!!! It's about 10,000 peace-loving hippies, camping and dancing to The Schwag ( the best Greatful Dead tribune band ever!) I've been to over 20 of them and am going the 27th,28th and 29th of May. I can't wait Whoooohoooo! Its in Southern Missouri at a 330 acre campitheater in the Ozark country called camp Zoe. Rolling hill, bluffs and a beautiful river called The Current that we canoe on. The band owns the land so no cops. Its just freedom. Everyone love each other and takes care of one another.
