killing 200 geese in CT

I was just watching my local news and heard a story that upset me so much I feel I need to do something about it. I live in Connecticut, about 40 minutes away from one of the richest cities in America, Greenwich.

A common problem in the northeast, Canada Geese have invaded the streets of Greenwich, causing traffic problems and pollution from the incredible amount of waste that these geese produce. After watching the news tonight, I realized that there is a proposal in Greenwich to KILL 200 of these animals. While I understand the people of Greenwich's concerns, killing 200 of the earth's inhabitants is not right!

I ask that anyone who is upset as much as I am about this proposal PLEASE help me avoid this from happening. I am planning to email the local newspapers tomorrow and hopefully get an artical published in the "speak out" portion of the paper. Im not from CT but I definately emailed them.. there are sooo many alternatives, dont ya'll have a GAME COMMISSION after all dont we pay taxes and such for that sort of thing, make them get off of their bums and go and relocate them somewhere where they wont be as much of a nuissance/inconvenience

 

They slaughter millions of animals in slaughterhouses for us to eat.

 

Im vegetarian I dont eat meat...thank you very much! and I limit my dairy..

 

Well, it would be okay if they made roast goose(s) and gave them to homeless shelters.

You see, you all arn't rational. Damn it... I was born to shoot my first gun at 6. You all need to except the facts.. being a hippy ain't about lovey-dovey. It's about being rational and excepting what is true. I shot a goose. Fuck it. As long as they eat them, I got no problem with killing them. Come on people, they over populated my pond and made it hell. Not only were they a problem in contaminating the water, but they were a problem on roadways(near the pond). They are an intrusive species. Look at it this way.. if we didn't get them.. my dog would've. There is always a species to kill..... The indians killed and they were the most peaceful people I knew.. and I grew up on reservations. I do agree that Greenwich is bullshit.. but I live in the richest county in America. I gotta deal with more assholes then you all do. There are ways to avoid bullshitting to a newspaper. Kill the geese and eat them. They are a fine meal. Man needs meat and nuts don't cut it. I need me a good meal. I'm a true country boy and a true hippy.

Loudoun County Bictches.... Meet the DC CEO population... In the past 2 days.. I've been in over 10 houses worth over 5 million dollars. Meet the real world. I make 6.35 an hour.. and I work full time. Imagine how I feel. Fairfax is the second richest but the fastest growing. Loudoun is the second fastest growing. Northern VA is hell on wheels.... I consider it the devil. That's why I own land down south; in the mountains. Where the country boy in me can shoot my rifle towards the miday sun and never worry about killing a man.

 

maybe if they didnt build 6 walmarts there on all the wetlands, the geese wouldnt have to fly to the puddles on the streets.

 

very true, fuck development... bastards need a new plan to build. Perhaps spread instead of pollute one area with a billion fucking houses.

 

If its going to lower pollution* and feed some starving people, let the geese be killed.


* Not that it really compares much at all to the tons and tons of pollution coming from factories and cars and what not.

 

i think no matter what it is, it should diserve to live. I know they are over populating but the only reason why it seems they are over popullated its because they are all going to certain areas. the other areas they could live and repropduce are now being built over by houses and cities. It not there fault it ours. just preserve some forest lands and feilds by you, build some pond or lakes or something and let the geese go there. dont kill them because you want to or they are in your way. we are in there way.

lol I don't luv 'em too but I thing there's no need to kill geese maybe some of these village women with twigs will help - instead of policemen with the shotguns

 

i dont like geese as much as i do dogs and horses and other animals... but it just not right to go out and kill them, we have an "over popullated" amount of dogs and nobody goes and shoots them. they are everywere and sometimes there are soo many none get a home. its sad really that people cant have a heart and care.

 

Why would you go out and shoot dogs? Theres birth control for dogs, and thats why theyre not over populated, plus theyre not wild. Its better to shoot them than to let them starve to death.
