Okay, i have some nice jeans that i wont wear because the bottoms arent flared enough, i just have a thing where if my pants dont cover most of my feet i feel uncomfortable... so i was wondering if i could just add some fabric to the seems or somethign to make a bell bottom on them, but i have NO CLUE how to go about doing this, i am just starting out with making my own clothes and such, so im a newbie.. and also.. i want to make some panel pants and they seem simple but how exactly do you make yours? and doesnt adding that fabric make the jeans bigger on you, just wondering the best method for both of these things... thanks!

cut the sides and sew some fabric in...not all the way up the side just as big as you want the bell to be!

    1--Cut triangle of fabric.
2--Cut seam of pants a little longer than the height of the triangle (for seam allowance).
3--Fold over base of triangle and hem, so it won't unravel.
4--Sew the two long remaining sides onto the jeans.

i have them saved but we can't upload .pdf files here...i could e-mail you them if you want to pm me your email?

Check it out though you could just buy some denim or cordoroy or what ever you would want your pants to be made of and then buy a bell bottom pants pattern at the store and make the whole pants that would be cool I bet. But yeah the sugestions above were good .
How bout some bell bottom pannel pants. That would rock!

Like a few have already said, just cut out some cloth triangles, cut up the side seem of the legs, and sew in the triangles. Easy!

My only suggestion would be to NOT use a sewing machiene on that top knot where all the fabric will gather with the side hem of your jeans. I almost ruined my mother's sewing machiene that way. :(

Just hand stitch the crap out of it up there instead. I never had a problem with any of mine coming out.

In fact, you guys have inspiried me. I think i'll make some bells today! :)
