good music, just love the sitar. I've been getting into a lot of the classic rock with sitar in it.

    gotta love ravi

he still occasionally appears live with anoushka, see him if you can!

George also appears on Ravi's Tana Mana, a mid 90s release from Shankar, but on georges label i believe.

Pandit Ravi Shankar is great, I have a few solo raga albums by him and a couple duets with Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. Excellent, excellent stuff... I think my favorite Hindustani classical musicians though are Hariprasad Chaurasia (bansuri) and L. Shankar (double violin).

I love Ravi.. He is such a beautiful man.. My mother saw him and Anoushka live a while back.. I want to see them so bad.. About a week ago my dad was going to buy me a sitar for a graduation present, but we both decided I dont have the time to learn it right now.. But it is a goal of mine to play the sitar one day.. =) Its such a mysic and beautiful instrument.. =)

    Peace&Love

Sitar and tabla are both amazing instruments, and no one is better than Ravi on the sitar! His performance at Woodstock rocks, just him and a drummer I think.

Yeah, Ravi's awesome. A total "trip" for lack of a better word, a nice change now and then from Western music. I own a couple of albums by him and one by Anoushka. I highly recommend the Concert for George CD (and DVD if you wish)- one whole side with Indian music.
