my son is 18 and he loves the doors, the beatles all the older music i was born in 69 but i would of loved growing up then or lived my teen years then
oh god the doors is good music.... i was just listening to a double-disc set "Best of the Doors" woooooohoh its good. haha some songs are mediocore but others i feel like im in an entrancing daze... woo. also the beates is great stuff. ive got the anthrology collection and the best album - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. John is my favorite beatle. I love "lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" because the lyrics create such a pretty picture in your head... good stuff. mmm.. also great bands you need to get your son some Rolling Stones. good stuff. ha speaking of great bands get him The Who. awesome band man nobody rocks better. they exude pure rock & roll. oh now ya really got me goin', hmmmm so much music so little time. ya itd be great to be there in the past. the energy that comes from a record by The Doors... ahhh just imagine being front row at one of their concerts. hmm.. that would be far out. in the days of rock & roll the dream was alive. a performer played their heart out. Artist and audience longed to give themselves to eachother. They united under the music. The relationship between rocker and audience is one of indescribable magic. they dont do that anymore. go to a show to see a plastic blonde lip-sync half-naked with a snake around her neck while backups do funny dances behind her....no thanks. Long ago, gimmicks were not needed, all that was needed was this magical love between artist and audience. both dedicated to eachother and rock & roll... oh im so sorry i didnt really make sense im in a dream state right now but it sounds beautiful to me and something id love to be able to be a part of...
i also have a son who will 13 and he likes guns and roses, tupac, and, doors yes it would have been something to be in the front roll of those bands man you sound so grown up for 13 lol
hahaha ... thanks. ya its a shame they dont make 'em like that anymore... but we need not worry. as long as their are a few youngins who believe the glory days will live on in all of us... anyway, your sons sound like cool kids. and you sure sound like a hip mom. ~rock on~
yes he was. thats one of the few men i would be able to have a relationship with that would truly work and be good. but since he isnt around and i wasnt around then (or so i think) ill just stick to girls. but jim was hot shit.
I love The Doors! Jim was just so WILD! The music is so great and can really change your mood. I love singing to the doors! Carrryyy me caravan take me awayyy take me to portugal take me to spain! etc. I have a big poster of Jim on my door and he is such a dreamboat. I heard that one night Jim and Janis Joplin were partying together and by the end of the night she had hit him over the head with a Jack Daniels bottle! I believe it!
hahaha ... that woulda be frikken great to see. ya he and jack daniels were good buddies. but really good music. ever hear that song "Five to One"? If any song could be called a musical orgasm, that would be the one! hahaha i saw this video of Jim being escorted on stage through the crowd by police and his fans are kissing him and touching him and he just has the most smug, stoned, funny look across his face. Then they threw him on stage and hes just "come on baby light my fire...". AHHHH it was freakin great. i was laughing but also sad ill never see him in concert.
i knew a young man who reminded me very much of jim morrison.... he got in trouble with the authorities and i think he is dead by now. shame i really liked him. very misunderstood guy.... oh anyway sorry.... jim rocks. and that be that. rock on.
I'm reading a book on Jim Morrison and The Doors, its called "Break On Through". You guys should check it out.
i sawed taht in the bookstore yesterday but i passed it by cause ive got enuff to read as it is.... but its been buggerin me and i regret leaving it.
Another good book about Jim is " No One Here Gets Out Alive." I've read that one a bunch of times. Then again, I absolutly love Jim Morrison and everything that is the Doors
You think? I just thought there music was damn good! Is it important for you to be seen as hippy? Or do you have a thing for rebelling against all that is seen as hippy? I just tend to get on with it mate OOO have downloaded some great Doors stuff off Winmx (Ta Mike!) Love Learning and Freedom Clairexxx p.s. Thanks again Mr Avacado_Salesman for the tip on how to sort my PC problem out!!! You Rock!!!!
The Doors rule , no discussion about that! But personally, I think that Mr. Mojo Risin'spoetry isn't as good as his music, but that's my opinion of course. And let us not forget the other members. The Doors couldn't exist without them. Love!
For true Doors fans: The DVD The Doors - Live at the Hollywood Bowl - it's the only complete concert ever filmed of the Doors on 5th of July 1968. Unlike other Doors material, this once-thought lost concert was captured by a four-camera crew with 16-track audio (mixed for the first time using digital technology). Released on video in 1987. Only for Hardcore fans: There is a Bootleg out there of a Jam-Session at Scene Club NY from 1968, featuring Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter and Buddy Miles. Don't know, whether they are only drunken, but from the musical point of view it's one of the worst records, I own.
