If God created the earth and human kind, than he messed up. Since God is infinite, he is infinitely good and infinitely bad. So, he created the earth, which is both good and bad. God CANT abolish evil. It isnt in his power, for he is infinitely bad. You cannot destroy what is infinite. I think he sent Jesus as sort of a pathetic band aid. Like God is some sort of child—so he sent a man to heal a couple people. God thought Jesus would mend the entire earth, by performing a couple miracles. Maybe God, knowing he could not rid the world he created of his infinite badness, abandoned us. What if God abandoned his creation, leaving it to writhe in its own filth.
It's the paradox: If God can do anything and is all-powerful. Can he create a boulder that even He cannot lift? (All clocks now stop.)
I agree - it's just seeking to limit God within the bounds of human logic - but God is beyond our mental conceptions, and is not limited as we are.
bible passages whcih state this? who came up with the idea that God is beyond all understanding? couldnt it have come about when the first logical argument against the bible arose; as a sort of cheap response? dont be so quick to tell someone they are wasting their time questioning god when you dont even know the true nature of god
This leads me to an interesting question... If god created us in his image, and wanted us to love, worship, and be with him when we die then why would he create himself to be beyond our complete understanding? Why does someone who wants to be so noticed and accepted by humanity make it so that he was beyond our capacity to fully understand? It just doesn't make any sense that it doesn't make any sense...Does that make any sense?
He gave us free will. He let US decide, if we're with him, or with satan. He can't rid the world of evil, because he'd be bending free-will, therefore breaking his word.
Create himself? That doesn't make sense. Anyways, he isn't beyond our understanding. No one wants to take the time to actively search. He who searches will surely find, it is said. But it takes sacrifice and true change, not just superficial change (Giving away all your things but still being greedy). Not to mention all the lies and confusion in religions makes the path to knowledge a narrow and steep one, but the way to ignorance and illusion is wide and easy. God/divinity/the Infinite/whatever is in us all, it IS us all. God is in you and you are in God, there is nowhere you can be where God is not. We could understand God, for certain. But not with words and thought (which are based on transience and duality) while God/divinity/the Infinite/whatever is beyond and above that (though still containing it).
