Will the UN and world show their true colors?

The talk is that Iran is very close to completing a nuclear weapon. What I want to know is what will the world do to take control of the situation. Will they spin on their behinds until it is too late and a weapon is completed. Then the US will be the only one to take care of the problem and then be blamed as war mongors. There missile technology will currently reach Hawaii all they need is atomic war heads. Does anybody here this that the UN will actually be effective.

 

Will the UN do anything? No. They never take action until it's too late. Look at North Korea. Their reasoning is "hey. the US, Britain, China, India, Pakistan, India and a buch of other nations have nukes, why not everybody?" Bitchy assholes scream disarmament out of one side of their mouth, and then justify other countries' nuclear weapons programs out of the other.

 

The talk is that Israel now already has nuclear weapons, as does Pakistan. What I want to know is whether the US is willing to put bias and double standards aside and is willing to take action against governments that we support and pander to as well as the ones that we don't.

 

The thing is if disarmament is gonna take place it should be an action that US, Britain, China, India, Pakistan should do equally. Without any preferences why should nuclear weapons be taken from "some" countries instead of all. If Disarmament is gonna occur it should be on an all or nothing policy. Because no country should have them period.

 

Iran gives government support to terrorists you cannot compare to countries you listed.

 

Still if a policy is going to be apply it should be applied for all. Besides how can you justify the existence of nuclear weapons?? they all should be eliminated

I was recently reading a speech by a leader of the Iranian revolutioary guard
and he was saying that they intended destroying the anglo-saxon world by hitting 29 targets in the usa and britian if we or isreal did anything to stop them getting nukes

when they get them they will get more and all the time support more terrorist groups and we are likely to have a big war

so I think it would be a good idea if they didnt get them but it most likely to late

I think that iran with nukes is more dangerous than either pakistan or isreal with nukes and sooner or later we are going to get a terrorist attack with a nuke on a western city

Once again with the anti-UN rhetoric but the answers are still there in your last Anti-UN thread "Down with the UN!!!!!". That time you were asking why the UN hadn’t acted now you ask why the UN doesn’t act. Why not do some research and think about it first?

What is it you wish the world to do about Iran and North Korea? You seem to be implying that you think the US should take action unilaterally? What do you think would be the consequences of such actions?

NK have nuclear missile that could wipe out Tokyo. Would China act?

The US forces are over stretched holding Iraq do you think that it could occupy Iran as well?

 

Maybe he thinks that the UN should grow a pair and, you know, actually enfore half of it's bullshit declarations and proclamations.

That's not gonna happen anytime soon, because then America and other strong countries may feel pressure to actually follow the many UN resolutions they ignore. The UN's impotence is directly linked to the fact the big countries don't give a shit for its laws unless they agree with or benefit from them.

The UN shouldn't have to rely on individual nations to carry out it's will. Sure, the idea of a standing UN army is absurd, but they should have the power to draw from each participating nations military so that everybody helps out.

 

The UN isn't a country on its own, how can you expect it to impose its will without any support? Sure, give 'em the power to draw from others' military, but that's easier written on paper than done, as are all of the UN's other powers. They need the respect and deferrence of the strong nations first if they ever expect the rest of the world to pay attention to them.

 

the real question is HOW can you force countries that have nukes to give them up? The risk of attacking is too great...if we attack NK, all we need is seoul, tokyo and kyoto taking nuclear attacks.


Also, how can anyone respect the UN when we have countries like lybia, syria, china and other countries on and leading things like the human rights comission. its a joke
