Do guys care about dreadlocks?

hey i just got my dreads on friday so like 3 days ago, and everyone at school seems to like them... like yea some of the hippie guys like em but i mean do guys really not care about them. Like they dont mind if a girl has them? Would they not like a girl just because she has dreads? im not too worried about a guy not liking me, because i can live with out one until i find a guy who like my hair, but they guy i likes seem to like them. so i just wanted to know your opinoin on past expeirience or whatever. THANKS!

 

It depends on the guy.

 

If you wouldn't want dreads if a guy didn't like them then you shouldn't get them at all.

 

I'm a guy and I'm a big fan of dreaded girls. Dreads are sexy and thats a fact.

 

What are dreadlocks? I guess I prefer wemon with hair to wemon who are bald.

Edit: Of course, I haven't seen many bald wemon so my opinion could change.

 

If a guy is going to date you or not date you simply because of how you wear your hair, he isn't worth your time. Hair is just that...hair. I've met guys who have loved my dreads...and those who didn't care for them...but still liked me for ME. That's what's most important.

Who cares what anybody thinks about your dreads anyway...if you've done them for the right reasons, it shouldn't matter what they think.

I agree with Michael; it is very very rare that a girl with dreads wears them well. (Not that I feel differently about guys with them, but that's neither here nor there.)

Fleassy's look cute on her. I know a skydiver chick who is famous for her blonde dreads. Those are about the only two I have seen that I thought looked good with them.

Maybe I don't have a true or accurate understanding of dreadlocks, but my impression is that they're kinda dirty. People have told me horror stories about them, and even just the stories of how they're accomplished sound gross. Isn't there stuff that has to be put into the hair?? Uck!

really they are quite clean, there are shampoos and such, unless you want to be a dirty hippy, lol. I don't have dreads but I think I'd look hot with them!

 

I love the look of dreads on people. And I actually have seen quite a few women here at school with some GREAT looking dreads. My thing is, I am ALL ABOUT running my fingers through hair. I was even a bit put off when hubby got out of basic training and had been shaved bald. I had a fuck buddy once who had dreads, and he was really sexy to look at, but I hated messing with his hair.

i love dreads, thats why i got them and im not worried that a guy wont like me becuz if they dont becuz of my hair, then they were probably not really into me, but thats ok they guy i like knew me before my dreads and he still seems into me so im not worried about him not liking my hair, he likes to play w/ my new dreads haha hey he can help dread 'em more if he likes them so much haha

 

the last post was really by me, but my friend was over and she logged on her name, so i never logged out of hers and i thought i was on mine so what iheartnathan said was really me haha becuz i just got dreads and they guy i was talking baout who i like and stuff lol mistakes happen haha

 

Dreads do not look good on women. I remember my sophomore year of college some female European foreign exchange students wore dreads and they thought they were cool. Apparently it was the cool thing where they came from. But in this country (U.S.), where it wasn't a fad at the time, we had a more sober look at things. One kid looked at them and could not stop laughing, and soon everyone was laughing, even the girls sporting the dreads.

Femininity is an attractive trait for a woman, and dreads do not make women look feminine. I much prefer long, soft, naturally flowing hair to dreads. But that's just me.

 

I don't think that femininity comes from the way a girl wears her hair. I believe it is the way she carries herself and the way she walks, talks, and speaks.

Everyone is entitled to thier opinions, of course, but I think it's unfair to say someone like me isn't feminine just because I have dreads. Seems silly to me.

And if people don't date girls who have dreads simply for that reason, like I said before, they aren't worth the girl's time. Chances are, they'd be really missing out on an openminded girl who is very down to earth and in tune with who she is. Bummer for them...

 

As someone mentioned on this thread, it's possible for a girl to look good in dreads. The problem, from my viewpoint at least, is that most of the girls I have seen with dreads have been, how should I put it, not great genetic material (i.e., low-class looking).

But it's possible, I suppose, for a few women to look good in dreads.
