Well, I'd say that if a war against Iran is started, there is a very strong possibility of a draft. That is, unless they pull out of Iraq completly, which I don't see happening since it is far from secure.

 

it has everything to do with the subject dumass........the person who i was quoting said that America has the strongest military in the world so y would the need a daft.........I was pointing out that they had a draft 40 years ago even though they had the strongest military then as well


and if u dont like like me fine...........not many do

and obviously no one likes you by the amount of time you spend posting messages on you computer

 

The british army owns the american...FACT

 

12 weeks. basic training, then an additional 7 weeks of training for infantry, another 12 for rangers, and another 2 and a half years for special forces.

I don't really care if you don't like the US, but our military is much better then anything else on the planet. China has a huge military, but not much ability to extend it beyond their borders. France has a better military then the UK.

I've been to The UK, Italy, and Germany, and Mexico.

I think someones just a 'lil jealous.

hmmmm what to say...what to say.... well seeing as the draft 40 years ago was instituded by a different president and a much different congress....not to mention technology has expanded by leaps and bounds..why would we need more foot soldiers when we have planes that can target exact locations rather then jsut droppin bombs hopin they hit.

now i have no against england, hell i plan on visiting there when i do a europe tour after graduation, but this statement is ridiculous...ever here of the american revolution? when a bunch of our farmers and blacksmiths beat your redcoat armies?
and regardless if you like either of them your prime minister is obviously Bush's bitch...so in reality...the american army owns the british!

Being patriotic is ok as long as you accept the faults and flaws within your society..and are not blind to the truth just because it does not suit your way of thinking.. Personaly i just take offence when 'commonly held' myths are churned out.

well bo be honest, i dont know what the exact effect would be on the UK. But considering that they only will stand in scotland, its not too bad. They're basci thing is "for an indapendant socialist rebublic." They're ex leader was one of the biggest figures in scottish politics. They basicaly believe in raising the minumum wage to £8 per hour for everyone over 16, not having a seperate min. wage for different age groups. They believe in a super tax, which would come into affect for everyone earning over 500,00 a year. They belive in scrapping all tuition fee's, not just top up fees. They believe in free school meals. They believe inNuclear disarmament, and an instant cancellation of all third world debt. Its basicaly a kind of, "make the rich pay their share" sorta party.
