Okay, i need to ask a big question and i'm calling out to anyone who knows anything about the pill. I recently split with my boyfriend and thus stopped taking the pill, i was expecting a period around about a week and a half ago but it still hasn't shown up. However nice it is to think, yay thats one less women issue to deal with its slighlt uneased me. I've heard that there can be a short delay of 2-3 months before having a period and that it is not considered unusual. Has anyone else experienced this, would i be right in thinking thats all it is? I'm just a bit paranoid y'know, as much as i hate it.. i don't like to be without my period it instals an sense of security that everythings A O Kay... Please if you have any ideas, please please respond and put a girls mind at rest. Thanks for listening, Dandy
The pill does ALL sorts of things to your cycle. It'll probably take a while for you to return to normal. I imagine it also depends how long you've been on the pill. Why did you stop taking it, by the way? I stopped taking the pill a year or so ago because I couldn't afford it when I was out of work. Funny, huh - someone who can't afford to even pay $40 a month for birth control is supposed to be able to afford an accidental pregnancy? What a lovely situation our government puts women in... I'm back working know for a long time, but I still haven't gotten back on the pill. I still hate the thought of paying for it. FREE BIRTH CONTROL!!! Sorry, I'm off my soap box now. I hope you get back to regular soon.
See thats why its great here, free birth control in england! I stopped it when we broke up, handly came at the same time i was due to take me next packet after my bleed but.. there was no point in continueing it if we weren't to be together. I wasn't about to go jumping into anyone else's bed for a long while. So i just didn't carry on with the next packet.
I didn't know it was free in England. That's fantastic! I think you can get free condoms here from Planned Parenthood, but I think most people don't know where the centers are to go to. It should be free for everyone, but then again so should all healthcare. Anyways, insurance should at least cover it. Only some insurance companies do, though.
The pill does crazy stuff to your body. If I miss even one pill i will bleed sometimes and i went off once and got super sad. It takes 3 months for your hormones to become stable again but if you are worried call your doctor or wherever you get your pills.
That's why I had to stop taking the pill. I was so bad at remembering to take it every day that my cycle just went crazy. But anyway.. I don't think you should be worried about it, it sounds very typical. But you could always take a pregnancy test just to make sure, so you wouldn't have to be paranoid about.
you could try the patch if you're worried about forgetting to take it every day. There's also IUD, depo, and seasonale (that's new, haven't heard much about it yet). Depo some people react to really badly so research it before you start up on it. IUD's have gotten a lot safer since they first came around, but I don't know much about htem except you better make sure your doctor is really good and knows a lot about gyno... if they get left in too long it's not good.
