  3. graphics are nice but I've played ascii shooters (very cool, very hard on the eyes) with more depth than halo, I mean dig dug, pong, the classics are !33+

I love them, especially first person shooters.
Trouble is I can never find the time to play
them plus they are a bit non-productive, IMHO.
I always have more important things to do but
given the chance I would play them much more.

Video games are addicting and bad for your beta waves. In 10 years there will be as many video game rehab clinics there are places for junkies.

I've seen too many people destroyed by video games. They ruin your social skills, they can be addicting, They cause you to loose touch with reality. yadda yadda yadda. They will be a smudge on mans existance.

Not that they dont have a time and a place. They are less harmful in the arcade. They develop hand eye-coordination. They are excellent for training soldiers.

My Brother has a really good and very well paid job.
Trouble is he has an addiction to computer/X-box games
and buys all of them, plays them for a bit then puts it
on the shelf and goes out and buys another then
another, he does not stop and has thousands of them.
Money is no object to him and has every single game
and every single games console going.

To me it's a waste of money, but to him it's not.
    We all have our addictions.

I think video games are the highest form of art that humans have achieved. Think about it, its art that you control. Full 3-d models of our dreams and fantasies.

video games are awesome i cant believe so many people believe they are bad for you... its just a game... its just like playing a board game... and it helps your social skills if you play games like WoW or EQ2 which are relatively dependent on your social skills... Its a huge industry, and a chance to escape reality and enter some made up world..

Right now im playin planetside and fallout 1 & 2 over again... an espn nfl 2k5 online.

I like them but I've been having trouble finding one to keep me excited lately... 16 bit era down and N64 are definently the best

Its just a game -- That is the attitude that is so dangerous. The images we have in are heads are the most real to us. They are are the ones that effect our emotions and subconcious the greatest. By playing a video game, you are, in effect living what is in the game, and it becomes real. This is what makes them so damaging.

its all in fun man i dont think they really effect people that much... there are so many people that play them.

And some video games help people with problems... companies have produced video games that change the reality around the person to help them with psychological problems, companies also produce video games to help with things like ADD, adhd, and depression...
you simply cant lump em... i think you just know someone personally that you claim has been damaged by video games, but i think its more likely the result of something else in their life, the way they think or sumthin.

s'all just fun ultimately t hough.

I didnt try to lump them, I think they just need to be used with caution. Especially when they are called stress relievers. They are most definitely not stress relievers, they re-direct stress, and in some cases, create more.

They are alright. I don't own a system but I believe that television is worse. At least when you are playing video games you are trying to accomplish something. Watching tv is a waste of time but what are you going to do about it.

I think that military/battle games are training future generations for WAR!
With digital technology, war is just like looking through a screen, aiming, and pressing a button.

yeah i agree with that, i like video games espicially if you really get into one (its not often for me nowadays), it can really take ur mind of things, obvioulsy if u play them 24/7 then i agree its not really good for you, but playing them occasionaly i think it can do you good, at least it gives you something to do

I love them...but I don't have a system right now(other than my old school systems, which I do play sometimes...Dr. Mario can never be replaced lol). When I do have a system I don't play 24/7...more like once or twice a week. It's just something fun to me.
