So I’ve been thinking about what makes a friend as of late. A Jim Morrison quote has been stuck in my head the past few days so I feel I must quote him as I feel he is an intelligent man. "Friends can help each other. A true friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself-and especially to feel. Or, not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with them. That's what real love amounts to-letting a person be what he really is." There are so many portions to a person and only a true friend will accept all those portions. I can honestly say that I probably only have six friends who really accept me for me no matter how I am. They take the occasional mood malfunction and minute flaws with a grain of salt because the whole is always more important than the part. I have come to realize that imperfections are what make life so beautiful. After all, what is the good in life without the bad to compare? What a boring world it would be if everything was always perfect. We’d have nothing to live for, nothing to strive for, nothing to improve. If you can’t get past the occasional flaws than that in itself is a bleak outlook on life. For most people, their flaws encompass 1-5% of their life, whatever it is, it’s a small portion. So focusing on that small portion and making decisions based on that is such a pessimistic way of life. I admit I have flaws, but I try to change them. I see flaws in my best friends, but I accept them, I don’t run the other way because I am an optimist and place importance on the 95-99% that is good within a person. Its usually the most arrogant people who focus on the small negatives of life, as if they are free of making any flaws themselves. I make my decisions based on the 95%+ that is good within life. If you can’t forgive someone you need to stop focusing on flaws only! Forgive and forget and remember the positive.
Wrong! Someone who likes the exact oppisite pizza toppings as you. that way when you "accidentally" order the pizza with all the toppings you like and they hate, you get to eat the whole thing, but they still have to pay for half.
What about a friend made of Pizza toppings? Thatd be a lifelong friend.... if ya didn't eat them right away.
Id eat them right away, I'm like that. there's no limit to the amount of pizza I can eat. Its sort of like being a super hero, only with a really stupid super power.
someone who you are your best around, someone who isn't bothered by your idiosyncracies, someone who would be willing to help you with an intricate murder plot.
Someone who you can smoke a doob with, occasionally (a plus), and enjoy good times with and feel secure to be with.
oh. there's this one of this tour they went on in europe...and they had some of the people from jefferson airplane talking about jim and stuff, yadda yadda, and at the end they show like his grave and people crying and stuff and i ALWAYS cry at that part. seriously.
