Well I've been playing guitar since I was 11 and I know you may think i suck because of my age but i do have some chops...I'm in a band and I live in Alabama(yeah i know). Do you think it would be worht it to learn freebird all the way through...I know with some practice I could do it and I already know alot of the main parts of the solo and I know al of the parts that come before the solo. So what's your opinion?

Its not really a very hard song at all, just practice alot. Note that alot of the solo is two guitars, so don't be discouraged if you can't get the exact phrasing and/or tone

    It's a simple song, it's just lengthy.

Well you couldnt play the end part anywhere near how it sounds, unless you had two very determined friends who would learn with you...

I am also in alabama, and let me tell ya, I cant count the number of times I have been asked to play this tune. I CAN count the number of times I have played it, which is actually once. We did ours in a punk style.

More fun, when they call out for Freebird, play em Werewolves in London. Same basic riff, different lyrics, and by the time they have figured it out, they are already enjoying the Zevon!
