she never said there was anything wrong with it, she justs curious about the big obsession

i dont really see a big obsession, but its always interesting to find out what they named their kids. i dont like a lot of the names they choose. for example, i would never name my daughter apple

I hope the obsession doesn't lead to stars doing things like getting married and having babies as a desperate attempt to stay in the spotlight and save a disappearing career...

    Maybe it's too late...[IMG]

I don't really think it's an obsession with celebrities having babies. People are obsessed with celebrities period. Gossip gossip gossip, that's what makes Hollywood go 'round. So in that sense, celebrities who might be pregnant, are pregnant and so forth makes for big news.

PS KJ I wouldn't name my kid Apple either!

I hate it when a star has a baby, keeps it in the constant company of a nanny (OMG, I am too busy to raise it myself!) and just uses the poor child as a status symbol. I admire the stars who breastfeed, take a few years off (it's not like THEY can't afford it) and RAISE the child themselves.

I also hate when a star has a baby, and does the above and suddenly becomes and instant "expert" on child rearing. Brook Sheilds comes to mind. She extolled the virtures of breastfeeding, then turned around and did a commercial for infant formula. (Although forumla is neccesary in very rare cases, I think promoting it's use on TV or magazines is awful and really hippocritical for a "mother" who was all about how wonderful breastfeeding was, until it obviously got to be some work for her.) And now has written a book on how she is an expert on Post Partum Depression. Hey Brook, try raising a child by yourself, with no money, barely enough to pay the rent, and no nanny or "personal assistant." She might know the TRUE meaning of depression in that case.

yeah it seems that american society is quite obsessed with celeberties......it turns my stomach. This is the stuff people care about? Which celeb is dating who....... Which celeb was photographed wearing the same outfit twice...... Which celeb is having a cat fight with which other celeb........it's fucking detestable that society eats this shit up like candy. And it seems like it's just gotten totally worse in like the last 10 years or so. ugh.....it's so shallow.

oh and it was just on the news or something that people are outraged because of something Brittney Spears said> I think it was something like "life used to be so much fun, all about ordering room service and traveling but since I've been married now I have to think about things like 'don't forget to tell the maid to pick up diapers and don't forget to tell the pool boy to walk the dog'. And it's just so hard":mad:
