    I like the cd by A Perfact Circle Emotive. It has some bad ass covers of protest songs on it.

    o yea and wooden ships by crosby stills and nash...i dont think it is really a protest tune but in the beggining it goes "if you smile at me i will understand, because that is something everybody, everywhere does in the same language", everytime i listen to them sing that it puts a smile on my face...but unfortunately many people are such hard asses that they are too afraid to smile at someone

    Pete Seger is the place to start and move on to Woody Guthrie
    , if you don't know who these guys are you should start doing some research about them.
    two of the greatest song writers in history, Bob Dylan learned from these guys

    yea i forgot about my man woody guthrie, check out his stuff. Bob Dylan tried to be Guthrie, didnt succeed (instead became one of the greatest/most versatile artists ever).
