I have not had a flu injection (or any other type of injection for that matter) since grade school, nor do I plan on receiving any.

I had the flu shot - I had to for where I was working. But I'll get it again next year for sure...you gotta be careful. My grandmother lives with us, and her health is not good... I really wouldn't want to bring the flu home and have her get it. That would be awful.

Warning! Flu Shots Can Be Dangerous To Your Health
by: DR. Edward F. Group III

Every year about this time doctors around the world are recommending that people go in and get their annual flu shot. What most people don't know or understand is just how dangerous this could be, especially for children under the age of 12. When people call and say "My doctor is telling the family to go in and get a flu shot. Should I do it?"...I tell them they should learn about the side effects and decide for themselves...as a chiropractor and naturopathic physician I don't' have the time or energy to argue with family practitioners or family doctors who are obviously uneducated on the possible side effects or detrimental effects flu shots or vaccinations in general can have on the body.

I personally have never received a flu shot and have never been ill during the flu season. In my personal opinion I don't think toxic chemicals and strains of different viruses growing on living tissue belong inside the body. Because of the demand, I want to share with you some of the research that we have found in the latest flu shot trend and the by-products of these supposedly sterile and non-harmful solutions.

I don't know about you, but I sure would not want any of the following compounds in my bloodstream or deposited in my body. Let's look at what we have found in the common vaccinations:

Ethylene Glycol: Ethylene Glycol is nothing more than the technical name for anti-freeze, the same stuff that you put inside your car engine. I don't think I have to tell you what would happen if you ingest antifreeze.

Thimerosal: This is a mercury derived disinfectant and preservative which is used in a majority of the vaccinations and can result in brain injury over a long period of time leading into Alzheimer's or Parkinson's Disease, lack of memory, sluggish brain performance and also is known to induce auto-immune diseases such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, ALS as well as altering and depleting the immune system from working efficiently.

Phenol: Phenol is most commonly used as a disinfectant, also used as a dye, is listened as a carcinogenic agent (cancer-causing) agent and is also known as carbolic acid.

Neomycin and Streptomycin: These compounds are used as antibiotics which have side effects to include severe allergic reactions in some people. It always puzzled me why they are putting two different forms of antibiotics in a viral vaccine.

Aluminum: Aluminum accumulates in the skin, bones, brain and kidneys and can cause Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. Aluminum has also caused cancer in laboratory mice. It is commonly used as an additive in most vaccinations.

Formaldehyde: Formaldehyde is used as a preservative. It is also classified as a carcinogenic (cancer-causing agent) and causes the body fluids to become acidic in nature. Formaldehyde will start to preserve your tissues within the body.

I hope that when your doctor starts telling you that it is time for your annual flu vaccine you will present this material to him and ask him how all of these ingredients are going to prevent you from getting the flu. I'll be very interested in knowing what his answer is to that question. As a side note just to let you know what is being injected to your body, these vaccines are strained through animal or human tissues like chicken embryos, monkey kidney tissue and embryonic guinea pig cells, to name a few.

So what am I supposed to do if I don't listen to my doctor and I decide not to get an annual flu shot? Well, you have probably made the smartest decision you have ever made in your entire life.

It's all a big money business. I have to get all types of shots because of my job.

The only one that really sucked was smallpox. Now in a month I have to start giving it to people.

Wow, I never knew that, now I don't even want a flu shot.
I just had one about a month or so ago...

No way. Neither I, my husband, and our children have ever had one, and we more than likely will never have one.

I get a flu shot every year. The article above is bullshit. They are not dangerous to your health. Thousands die every year from influenza. The number of deaths "caused" by the flu shot are negligable.

I never even notice when I have the flu because I'm sick pretty much all of the spring due to allergies that a little fever and muscle aches don't really weigh in for me. I'd rather be sick anyway rather than get a shot as long as the sickness isn't something prolonged.

Why dont you look it up, and give some facts of why its bull shit before you start talking. It doesnt say you die from the shot, its just saying whats in it. Quit being so closed minded. Its got to be bull shit becuase you get one every year, right.

Only one person in our family gets the flu shot (and I only immunize selectively and did choose flu as an "OK" injection, while rejecting stuff like MMR and Pertussis) My 16 year old dd Moon is the "door" to the flu for our family. For some reason, she brings it into the house. (not the poor kid's fault, she has asthma, and is very sensitive to the flu, she coughed two years ago for 3 months after a bout with the flu) two years ago, she didn't get the shot, we all got sick, and my dd Sunshine ended up in the hospital. Last year, Moon got the shot and NONE of us got flu (we got colds but no flu) this year, I didn't have her immunized, as the shortage required she get an adult shot, and I wanted to save them for old people and people with very serious immune disorders, and Moon was happy not to get one. Well, we got Flu, Sage ended up in the hospital emergency room dehydrated, Lennon couldnt stop coughing (for a while they thought we all had Pertussis, but it was only flu) and Sunshine got Bronchitis and needed to go to the doctor for a Nebulizer treatment and an inhaler. I am coughing at the moment.

Moon is getting a shot next year.

I had to have them for the placement I did...I worked with special needs kids and some of them have like ZERO immune system. Everyone who worked there had to get them, no one with any sort of illness (even a cold) was allowed on the property...times like that, yes, it's important to get the flu shot. Like I said about my grandmother, too. Actually both my grandmothers are in poor health...especially the one with MS, getting the flu would probably literally kill her.

Maggie, that's awful about poor Moon :( And awful for the rest of you guys, too. I bet you had your hands full with all those sick children, you poor thing.

I apologize for saying its bullshit. That is not as diplomatic as I like to be. What I should have said is, the article is full of hype. The fact is, a lot of what is said is NOT bullshit. It is important to remember, though, that EVERTHING on this planet IS TOXIC. The difference between medication and poison is only a difference in dosing. You are much more likely to be injured by lightning than from a flu shot.

You can bring the flu home to your grandma anyway. The flu shot does not prevent your body from carrying the virus. Theorethically, you can still spread the desease to other people. The chance is not big, if you don't have the disease yourself, but it is not impossible.

I never get one. I think it's a US thing to get one for healthy adults; here in the Netherlands you need a good reason (elderly, compromised immune system, whatever) to get one at all. Most general practitioners won't give you one if you're in normal health.
