Hi everyone. I'm looking for a place to escape the rat race (if that's even possible these days) All I want is somewhere rural, warm climate preferred, where I can build a modest cabin perhaps, and live an agrarian lifestyle. I've looked at several communities, but many have large joining fees, or you need to buy some property or a house. I just want a simple communal life in the woods, is it out there? I'm a big dreamer, so feel free to recommend anything world wide, but I only speak English...so far.

See, that's rediculous that you'd ahve to pay some huge fee or buy land to escape society. See, as long as I'm in society, all I can ever be is homeless. Well I can't deal with that. Homelessness is not peaceful. It's absolute misery because every waking second is a reminder of how you can not be a part of the world. :(

Yeah. I hate that kind of money things too. But many times if you ask someone in the communities it's possible to just go there and work and get a place to stay and food.
    Have you checked: gen.ecovillage.org
When the right kind of people get together language is not a problem. In addition to communities it's possible to find some small farmers, who always need help with their work. I don't know how much there is small farmers in USA, but if you have adventurous mind, for example in Europe there must be endless number of possibilities. I could help you find some kind of list if you want, but maybe you know better how to find places in USA.
I plan to start an organic farm in Finland in 2 or 3 years. I just study it first for 2 years. But I am sure I will do it then, because it's been on my mind for so long. It will be somewhere in the frontiers of Finland from where people have moved away and where land is very cheap. It's not the warmest of places though. I just want to be able to say everyone wellcome there who wants to step aside from the sick society, enjoy peaceful life in the countryside, in woods, not asking for money, just a place to make it possible for people to easily make this kind of change. This is what I have had in mind for a long time. I hope it gets realized. So in two or three years if you haven't found what you need yet, go to Finland and find me.
