I saw it on my most recent trip--crazy crazy stuff. The movie is a trip in and of itself; sort of like a Japanese Alice in Wonderland, but possibly even more surreal, and with more of a cohesive plot. I give it my highest endorsement for sober or intoxicated viewing.

Yeah, I saw it like a year ago? Well, I don't remember when. I wasn't expecting to like it, since I hate anime... but that movie rocked. I'd watch it again.

Oh, and I like your analogy of it being like alice in wonderland, I agree

I like everything by Miazaki (sp). Spirited Away is a brilliant film that will never grow old! My first taste of real anime was the movie Akira by the same person... ahhh, holy fuck!

My friend introduced me to it. Love the movie, so beautiful to look at. And a great story, as you say, trippy in a good way. :)

I saw it a few months ago. Yeah, it's one of those movies where you're not exactly sure what is ahppeneing, and you know it's VERY weird, and yet, you can't tear your eyes from it. Great stuff.

I give it five middle fingers up.

But for a Japanese animated film, it's not too bad.

I thought it was beautiful, imaginative, and just awesome. Only, I wish i could speak Japanese. My friend, who is fluent, said the translation/subtitles is/are much less subtle and more cheesy than the original.

Subtitles are never 100% correct. There is always a kind of tone in the original language. Even more in Japanese. You can write pages about a word to explain it in English.

I usually dont like Animes but I saw it over a year ago and I thought it was really fun to watch. I really liked it though I thought I wouldn't.

it's one of my favourite animes. It's like a beautiful dream, everything just comes out of nowhere. I also love the cheeseyness factor, left me with a fuzzy feeling inside. I'm a big Miyazaki fan.
