Algebra Problem

Solve for x:

x³-x²-2x=0

x5-x²=2x


There are at least 5 solutions, I'm looking for two.

 

whats with the question marks? is that part of the equation?

there are no question marks....

 

The answer to the first one is -1 or 0.

For the second, 3 or 0.

 

At first, I thought you were looking for the roots, but then I realized: Hey, I'm stupid.
I hated these kinds of problems.

 

For some reason it'as showing it wrong. They should've been:
x^3-x^2-2x=0
x^5-x^2=2x

I was looking for -1 and 0 which someone got.

guitar and music history rule(beats math)

 

x³-x²-2x=0
x(x-2)(x+1)=0
x=-1, 0, or 2

x5-x²=2x
x^2(x-1)(x^2+x+1)
x=1, 0, or 1.35321
