Here are the pants my husband peiced together all by his self :) all they need is one more pocket and the pocket flaps and there is a little bear patch to put on one pocket and a dead patch to put on the back!!

They are almost done, I am excited. And he has never sewn before there WTF!!

Hi, I am also making a pair of patchy pants for my man. I have all the strips ready to go, they are all pieced together, but I don't know how to do the inseam and crotch. (I hate using that word, but what else would you call it...?)
If you could shed some light on this I would be very *grateful*
    peace

ok if this makes any sence i have 4 peices, the back of each leg and the front of each leg.............. i sew the back croth together and then the front crotch, just the crotch peices LOL............ then i sew the outside seams together and then i sew the inseams.......... if i dont do it in this order i sew all sorts of shit where it shouldnt be sewn..............

    i think i get it
i am a bit scared to over sew things as well
i have 4 pieces like you said
isn't it kinda odd to start with the crotch?
i also was wondering how to do the top part where it fits around the hips.
i need to know because it just kinda ends without any type of closure. i want to stay away from zippers and stick to tie string.
    is that what you do?
do you know what I mean by this?
I am not good at wording this crafty stuff
but i do like your work so you obviously know what you are doing
by the way, do you live in a tent?
i see that there is a tent in the background where you are taking these pics...

sewing the crotch together first is easier for me so i know i dont fuck up HAHAHA. nah the tent has been us airing out for smilefest HAHA we did try to camp in it one weekend but we all fell asleep inside the house HAHAHA

I usually do drawstrings and elastic in the waist of everything, zippers are a bitch to sew in! ypu can either make a waist band with a strip of matching fabric or roll the top down and make the casing like that!!

heres how i do my casing for the drawstring...
i leave about 1 inch or 2 inch opening in the center front seam. i fold back the tiny bit that was left open and stich and backstitch securely at each opening end. I turn down the casing evenly, sometimes i pin it and sometimes i dont, just depends on how i feel LOL and stitch in place. Use cord or a fabric tube for the drawstring, cutting it the length of the waist measurement plus enough to tie a knot or bow. Thread the drawstring through the casing ( iput it on a safety pin so it is easier to guide thru but i belive there is a tool for this). Knot the ends or use purchased cord stoppers.

    hey phunky freshy
thanks for the info. that's kinda what i had figured out anyway, and practice makes it easier. you can't be afraid to fuck up ya know. and ya don't get anywhere doing nothing about it like i have. but i am a school nerd right now trying to go back after a 5 year hiatus. and i mean hiatus. whew!
but i was gonna ask you... what is smilefest? where and when?
i am also pregnant. i noticed that you write often in the parenting forum as well. i also seen that you have a uti. i am studying herbs and i know that for a uti, the best thing for you is CRANBERRY JUICE. sugar free or unsweetened, and pure, 100% so that you would have to dilute with 8oz of water to one oz. of juice concentrate. also i know that rough sex causes uti's so you might want to tone it down a bit. hee hee. also if you clean up before and after, it helps a lot.
also if you are careful you can take uva ursi. this really works. no shit either!! I have used this and not the antibiotics that the dr.gave me because actually my uti kept coming back with the dr. drugs. so uvi ursi cured me and i haven't had a severe one since. once you feel the stinging though, drink that cranberry juice, i know it's kinda gross, but very effective. if you need the amounts and measurement for uva ursi let me know because it can be bad if you use to much during pregnancy but i think it's better than antibiotics, just from personal experience. if you have any more questions reguarding any kind of prenatal treatments or things about herbs or nutrition, don't hesitate to ask ok? I will post this in the parenting forum in case you don't get it here.
