If you throw a ball and they come back with stuff in their eyes that dosnt wash out you will regret ever throwing the ball.Friday I threw the ball and my dog had to have eye surgery. She ran into a tree,And now has a stupid cone on her head.Shes also alergic to her rabies shots.Anyone have a good idea on how to un clutz a dog? I love her and shes worth all the money we have forked out but damn There has to be some kinda training. She knows all the stupid dog tricks "really cute" But damn 600 dollars is alot to cough up when you work at a sub shop
My dog likes to chew sticks. Twice she's managed to get a small piece of stick, perfectly stuck, across the roof of her mouth, all the way in the back, between two opposing back teeth. Dogs teeth seem to be pointed toward their throat, so I can't stick my finger behind it and pull forward cause that locks it in tighter. I actually have to push it back farther toward her throat, to get it unstuck. Needless to say the dog does protest my finger pushing a stick down her throat. I would have taken her to the vet if I wasn't so cheap, but after having this stick stuck in her mouth for two weeks, her breath starting to get really nasty, I finally just got my determination up and let Missy know that i meant business. I put her on her back on the ground, put my weight from my right elbow on her chest, held her mouth open, inserted my finger, cradled her twisting head in the crook of my arm so she couldn't continue twisting, and while she gagged, I pushed the stick back and out of her teeth.. I let her go, she stood up, spit out the stick, then almost before I could grab it, started to eat it again. About a week later, she did the same thing again. I immediately performed the same ritual on her and fortunately, she hasn't done it again. At least it wasn't in her eye! I think I have gallery pics of Missy and her puppies if anyone is interested. You should post some gallery pics too pixietreeleaf. love and light
I dont have a camera or I would have tons of pictures of yarrow. The only ones we got of her and her pups are those instant polorids. How many did youre dog have mine had 12
you know, my cat is a huge klutz and it worries me, too. he's always knocking his head on things, running full speed into stationary objects, falling off of things, and never landing on his feet. other than that, he has decent motor skills. i'm always finding small scabs on him, and he's an indoor cat! was this a one-time thing for your dog, or is it generally klutzy all around? based on my experiences with my cat, it won't change. unless your dog is real young and grows out of it. one thing i do wonder is whether or not the cat might have difficulty seeing out of one of his eyes. he's young and has never had damage done, and his pupils react to light and look fine... but maybe he just needs glasses, essentially (which i don't think is feasable for pets). perhaps one eye is different than the other, and this throws off his depth perception? or both eyes are blurry and seeing is just all around difficult? thats the best guess i've come up with, observing my cat. i don't know if that helps or not. hopefully your dog remains in good health and becomes a bit more agile!
Sorry to hear about your dog's accident... but don't feel bad for throwing the stick! Accidents happen, but it's better than to stop playing with him, fat & lazy dogs that lay around indoors all day & just go out to take a dump may never get injured but they sure aren't happy & healthy!
My dog takes a maximum of 3 steps before he completly falls over... and by that i mean complete head over heels trip! He just throws himself around without a care in the world! Oh well.... as long as he is happy!
I drive my dog to the local park to play......there is a fenced in baseball field (no trees or sticks) and I throw the ball around with her there. That way I dont have to worry about her getting hurt.
My dog has allways been a klutz and I have found random cuts but I never needing surgery.Me and my roommate take them to the park"them being my dog and her son" on sundays its the only time we have to take them we get home after dark usually
