What's your opinion on the tone the maj7 chord gives. COnsidering it has both a major and minor triad in it.
Hmm... meh, it's okay. But, out of anything, the progression of Em, C, D, G have stood the test of time. (think Heart Of Gold)...
Do you mean a major triad with a maj7 or a minor triad with maj7? I like them both, but I suppose it really depends on how the chords are applied. The min/maj7 is especially cool, since there's a certain vagueness to it; again though, it really depends on the harmonic context in which the chord is used...
