so sick of this place

I know that I just posted something similar to this not too long ago, but I'm really getting sick and tired of the shit that goes on here.
This was supposed to be a place where people who wanted to start another "hippy revolution" in a way could meet and talk. i was always under the impression that hippy's cared about everyone, were understanding and just wanted everyone in the world to get along. Now I've started to get pm's telling me that I'm an immature little bitch. Oh, and i can't forget the one about me being a slut because my bf of 2 years and I are having a baby.
I'm not going to stop coming here, or else I'd just be giving in to those people. There've been a lot of helpful people here, too who can offer any opinion without degrading everyone else. we need more of them.

 

Make sure to disable your rep, its the easiest way for little bastards and soccer moms to get an unsigned last word in.

I think hippies were all about fighting too.

 

I've been coming here on and off for 3+ years now and it's always been this way. There are a few people here that ARE about the *hippie* life... that are not concerned with clothes and hair but with issues and Mother Earth.
YOU need to stick around and don't let the nay-sayers get you down. Some people are really truly only happy if they can find faults in others and just, in general, bring others down.

 

by placing labels on other people, you can only expect people to lash back by placing labels on you.....

just because this place is called the hip forums does not mean it is solely a place of so-called "hippies", this is a forum full of people with different views and different lifestyles.....

I too came here looking for like-minded people that still truly believed that the "hippie" was alive and well and that I could share my opinion and my opinion be respected instead of it being shot down. But thats all that happens here. When I was looking for this place I googled it (ie, Hippie) and this was the first site that popped up, so you can't blame people who come here looking for a place for hippies because thats what they are looking for. I'm glad that there are people here from all corners, but some people are just jerks.

Rather than waste any more keystrokes than possible, just look at what scarlett said. Again and agaqin until you get the point.

Where in the hell does it state that we're all on here to start a new "hippy revolution?" The majority of people on here don't consider themselves hippies. By placing labels on everyone here, you're setting yourself up for some MAJOR disappointments. And that's your fault. Not ours.

I'm guessing that your getting those nasty PM's (which I don't condone. I try not to be mean) because of the way you treated people AFTER asking for advice. You asked. They gave. You didn't like what you heard. Deal with it.

This place is a little slice of what life is like. You will find support, advice, and entertainment if you know where to look. But don't get pissed off when people speak their minds. I think of this place more as a "free speech" site, rather than a "Hippie" site.

I truly hope things get better for you.

Precisely, I gave my opinion on the situation and got my head chewed off for it (virtually that is). She asked for opinions and got them. Nearly everyone in that thread had the same opinion. She just needs to settle down a bit and not get so worked up.

Ask and they shall reply, and with whatever ideas they may have.

I just don't think that anyone on here deserves to be called a "slut" or degraded. That's not free speech. It's people like that who create censorship by abusing it.
