I am curious, as are a lot of you guys, what the next popular jam band will be. You know the media's darling.Now I know we have: SCI, moe., DMB and etcetera, but what band will be in the public eye "Those dirty college kids" band. The absence of phish sometimes worries me that when I go to a moe concert, they are going to turn in to the "it band" and its going to attract the same following phish did in it's later years. On the flipside is that there are so many kids/teens/adults right now practicing there ass off and forming what may be the next dead, zeppelin, what have you. Change is like a double sided sword, we'll see this summer.
I know a lot of people seem to believe in this theory that because phish (and probably the dead) is not touring, that people are going to gravitate towards a single band. I'm not sure I believe that - I see this as being a time in which people will spread out a bit more. Some will head towards moe., some towards YMSB, some towards SCI, and the numerous other really good bands out there. I dunno, just something to think about. As you said, all we can do is wait and see...
