I need a list of all the plants you know of that boast antibacterial or antimicrobial properties.

I'm doing a research project on the true effectiveness of such plants and what kinds of bacteria they kill, if any at all.

Lets see, there are a lot but some deal mostly with the ones in your gut.

Garlic, ginger, rosemary, turmeric, green tea, witch hazel, tea tree, camomile, daisy, and Lemon grass. I know a few more but can't think of them at the moment. Like I said above, many of these are for internal use, mostly for the gut and balancing your intestianl bacteria. I'm not sure which of these you can injest and which ones you can't. This is mostly from friends by word of mouth so I don't reccomend taking all of these orally to experiment with them without more research.

People produce taxol from Yew trees-mostly using lots of the needles to fight cancer!!
of course, you got the citronella plant to defend itself against insects.
Not just plants either, I've heard incredible research dealing with mushrooms and cancer, AIDS and all kinds of really cool stuff. (which is a totally different report I would imagine.)

Hey, thanks for the suggestions. The Pacific Yew is actually an idea I'm entertaining. The other one I thought of was Lichen, which is actually fungi and algae living symbiotically, but they function as a plant.

So, I will probably start research towards the end of this week... and I'll let everyone know how it goes.
