Saturday, I finally moved into my own little apartment in Leiden, the town I'm studying archaeology at. It's been a very pleasant experience so far, the weather's been very kind to me, my fridge and cabinet are full of yummy food and drinks, my direct neighbours with whom I share a kitchen and bathroom are a classmate of mine and his brother so we get along well, The part of town I live in has an abundance of green and birds singing, there's barely any motorised traffic, I finally have some time to do stuff with my other friends who live here and it may be a bit cliché but omg I'm like soooooo happy!! ^_^

I got some pictures, hope they're not too big, of my living room. The room's 12 square metres (something like 40 square feet? Do square feet exist? Do you have special shoes for that? Anyway...) and my bedroom's half as big.

View from the door, in "frog-perspective" (I prefer having it look bigger than it is than smaller than it is...)

The pink (yay ^_^) back wall with my little garden table and chair, my hippest ov the hip Martin Luther King poster and my guitar (ask me if I can play!).

Left side of my room with the "technology sector", note the insufficient surfaces on which to place things despite the darkness. My monitor and my tv are each on one of my speakers, my keyboard's placed on a drawer cabinet on wheels. I have to move the mouse around on my thigh because there's no room elsewhere to move a mouse around. Also, my keyboard and monitor are way too low for comfort.

Right wall. Indeed all very empty so far. I need more furnishing, like a couch (might be getting one for free with a bit of luck) and of course more tables or a desk or something. I already got more chairs coming up as well.

Well anyway, I'm totally joyous about having my own apartment and cooking and buying my own food and stuff. Do you have any idea how great it feels to be able to say "this is MY house". Of course my parents' house was mine as well, sort of, but this is so much different... I'm the one paying for it, I'm the one keeping it clean. I can't explain how fucking fantastic it feels.

To summarise this thread: yay. ^_^

Thanks. :) No, my room isn't as obscure as you'd expect from someone who's into the music I love. I have recently developed a tendency to express myself rather than just my musical tastes. :) Acting the way my idols do wouldn't suit me anyway.

My room's bound to get fuller and more cozy, I'll post some pics once I got some more furnishing etcetera.

It probably is. My dad once bought it at a flea market for one or two euros (= more or less the same amount of dollars).

You need some Cradle Of Filth posters and perhaps a huge inverted cross.
    :D
Maybe nay on the latter part, but deffinatley get a Cradle Of Filth poster.

Yeah, indeed. The clean cut is not my taste but for now it'll have to do.

    Not ladies per se. :p

Yeah, it is quite minimalistic as of yet. I hope to change that soon, a little more furniture like I said would make it much more cosy. The floor is cool but the downside is that every bit of dust on it is visible, so you have to vacuum-clean it every two days or it'll look like shit.

Hm... not necessarily. I might at some point buy one though. Huge inverted crosses are never a bad idea.
