And of course the CIA is run by the Tooth Fairy, since heroin is made from her gills.

Its the biometric data, the infringement of civil liberties and the constant tracking of your every move by very small chips that are hidden within the pupil of your passport photo.. The vast data base were the FBI CIA MI5 MI6 can track you down , imprison you for life (with no charges) etc etc etc ..

    Lick,

I am sorry that I am unable to maintain the tone of perpetual shrill outrage and hysteria which you so gratingly affect. Are you just angry that your crackpot conspiracy theories have been shoved aside for the more entertaining albeit even more ridiculous illuminati nonsense which now tops the HipForums charts?

I don't live in the facile binary world that you do. The choice is not between free trade or a police state; as I have repeatedly stated, there is nobody people like you hate more than those who can see the middle.

Whether someone is required to show a passport or some other form of ID card at the border is not especially important, it certainly won't mark the beginning of a "nazi-inspired police state". People stop and show ID in either case. NAFTA is a free trade agreement, not a political union like the EU. Add that to the list of things you should figure out some day if you want to continue with your "foreign policy analyst" charade.

My preference will always be for free trade. I'm for the free movement of labour, capital, goods and services across the NAFTA borders. But I can accept it if people have to show a passport on the way over.

    What?! Really?!

What kind of chips are they, and don't say RFID because I know about those, and they couldn't be used like that at all

Biometric data is for identification. They are still collecting the same same information - when you entered and left the country - as the old passports. I don't see how it improves the ability of the CIA to imprison you for life with no charges.

passport...hmmm, i haven't used a passport to get into canada. i go atleast once a month and atmost 10 times. i go through vermont's border. on some occassions all we had to do was say we went to to so-and-so school and they let us through without even looking at any kind of ID. at most, we have giving driver licenses. i've never had a problem getting into canada or getting back into the US.

I thought all of those people were going to boycott any product that uses them....which will soon mean every single product sold at wal-mart, target, the large grocery store chains...to start with.

fitzy, the law takes effect in 2007.

Oh yes, PB "the center", that further soundbite connoting all those who simply rely upon the rhetoric they are fed by their oh so trusted "officials", regardless of the repeated exposure of lies, fraud and propaganda those same officials cook up regularly to dull tiny compliant minds such as yours.

Who better to speak of a " facile binary world" where all is black and white just like they tell you it is. Meanwhile, the reality of what they intend remains blocked from any investigative scrutiny or constitutionally mandated accountability (without complaint nor question from the likes of you) even as the repercussions of their ideologically-driven political agenda further erode the political, social and economic foundations of the nation and its citizenry.

The only crackpots here are those like yourself, too busy accepting the pablum that is sold to you as news and scoffing at everyone and everything that opposes your smug insulated worldview of business as usual.

You go right ahead and let your retina scan and fingerprint be recorded by this powermongering, boogeyman-fabricating, criminal administration. Once its recorded, well good luck to you when the wheel of history completes its repetitive cycle. All us "crackpots" will be sure you to remind you just how much of a mindless drone you truly are.

No heroine is derived from poppies actually (which the Bush admin made sure to restore to unhampered cultivation in Afghanistan), but apparently your investigative capacities arent sufficiently developed beyond such childhood fantasies to do more than make laughable snide quips such as this.

Obviously the mountain of available and widely documented evidence isn't worth your time to bother reviewing for your own education on the matter.

Should you mature enough to indeed bother, you can start here:

    The C.I.A. & Drugs: Narco-colonialism in the 20th Century

Plenty of referenced books and reports for you to chase up at your leaisure.

phew, thank god, it would piss me off if you couldn't get heroin and opium anymore. I guess occasionally Bush does do something I agree with.

I don't really care if it's law now because I already drag my passport along for the ride when I happen to be going into the states. Actually most people I know alerady do this because of weird problems with the us boarder and it's "acceptable ID"

Just get a passport and quit whining about it.

It's really not that big of a deal.
