    hey folks! i was wanderin if any of you fans of weird music had ever heard of the point by nilsson?....its a music album come story tape complete with a picture book. it is bonkertasically ace!

    Anyone???

    Yaaaay! Someone else who knows of this album. My husband turned me onto it a few years back and I think it is so cool! Music somewhat folky, and makes a very good point....hence, The Point! :)

    I have it... great album... Ever see the movie.. Its got Ringo Starr narrating and Nilson singing>..

    yaaayy wow, finally ppl i can relate to about this!!!! good point btw (butterfly)...lol[​IMG]

    it was one of my dads old lp's and i liked it wen i was little because of the surreal story and that comic it came with but i love it now for its pure originality! i didnt kno ringo narrated it...you sure? thats pretty darn cool if he did. faerie, do you hav it on vinyl or cd and do you get the comic with the cd? im tryin to find for a friend for a birthday pressie.

    not yet, but i wont give up...but i have a feeling i wont be able to find it :/ i really want to hear it!

    I've got it on vinyl but no comic:( havn't listen to it in years but I think I'll give it a spin when I get home.let you know what i think tomorrow

    Yup he narrated the movie... Its one of my favoite movies.... I saw it the first time cause of my love for anything with the beatles :).... My album is just a burned copy... I had the orig on vinyl (no comic) but it was stolen from me.. so i burned a copy off the net

    I would check ebay for copies... Your sure to find it... I know you can get the movie from ebay.. so the album should be floating around too

    its a shame neither of you have the comic...to me it really is a section of the story, coz half the suff in the narration you wouldnt pay attention to but awhole page is dedicated to it...bloody great!! ill look out for the film tho..snds really cool!

    Well I gave it a spin and smoked a couple and its pretty fuking good I'll be playing it for some mates at the weekend cos I think they'll dig it.I completly forgot about this album til I read this thread.nice one guys:)

    other albums in a similar vain I've got are:
    Sir Henry at Rawlinson End by Vivian Stanshall (unreal how funny this is)
    Ogdens Nut Gone Flake by The Small Faces (well side 2's Happiness Stan cycle)
