heya all Well you guys always post you "thrift shop" successes. im guessing our version of thrift shops are charity shops and second hand shops. Here are my successes. A thick textured bag, i dont know what the fabrics called, its like a thick canvasy feel. this was 99p!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (thats one penny less than £1 ...and its about £1 to $2.50) to give you a comparison... a small bottle of coke cola here is usually 87p about. its like a rucksack bag and ive been looking for one for ages.. its big enough for a4 papper but not massive *grin* i was sooo chuffed!! and second an old bed spread covered in nursry rhymes for £1 *grin* im going to use this to make some things
hehe yea it is isnt it im not sure what im going to do with it yet. im still working through the 101 dalmation curtains i got a few months back. any ideas anyone has for the bed sheets are openly welcome
I would make a random patchwork skirt with it. Cut out various squares and mix em in with tons of different calico squares of various sizes.
do you hav any patterns for dresses? it would be soooo cool if you made like a 1950's halterneck dress outta the nursery rhyme one....it would look so bizarre and you wouldnt hav the problem of finding something to match!you probably dont have enough fabric tho...hmmm a bag maybe?..not quite so original tho is it? a kite perhaps? oh i dunno
definately.....allya need to do is raid a toy shop for a nice bid hoolah hoop! ...may be a problem when trying to get on the bus! hahaha
hehe circle skirts didnt have wires in them in the 1950's but they did flair out wonderfully when you were jiving
do you have a dress pattern to go by? be a bugger if you didnt hav enough fabric. you'll look so unbelievably cool walking down the street in a dress covered in nursery rhymes!!! any ideas for the curtains yet?
If you wanted to do something other than clothes, I bet that sheet would make a cool baby quilt! Just a thought! Bright Blessings! Aphrodite Pretty
