Hey we all know the music is AMAZING while rolling but has anyone actually began to enjoy music that they couldn't stand before, even if you weren't listening to it on the roll. Like, for example, When I was rolling I was listening to Pearl Jam and Floyd and then like a week later I discover I enjoy listening to rap songs that irritated me a week before.

I never listened to techno until I went to a rave club. Now it's all I want to listen to. I CRAVE THE RAVE.

Its all about those special live bands (you know what Im talking about if youve been before) that are condusive to tripping on whatever. A special festival site, a great venue...where there are many others in a similar headstate. I cant imagine doing it anywhere else. One time, I did it at a party and it was fun, but not near as fun as at the "show"
I like being out in nature where you can see the light shows, fire dancers, etc...the best. I would love to go to Burning Man one day, but Ive got to have another mission besides drugs to get the full benifits of that festival. Music festivals....the best for anything.

sort of.. i kind of listen to more rap or hiphop type music than i did before.. i think it might have something to do with the fact that i really like to dance when rolling because you can feel the music and feel the beet, and music like that has a really discernable beat, and before i rolled i really didnt dance much at all.. like, i could find and keep time with the beat of a song, but i wasnt as in touch with my body.. i wasnt comfortable enough in my own skin to actually dance and move.. and when i listen to those kinds of music now, its because of the beats and the music, not the words...

also, rolling really opens your mind.. like, after you do it even if only once, you're more open to things that you werent before.. and before, i rarely listened to anything except rock.. any genre of rock.. i rarely listened to what they play on the top 40 or hiphop stations, and its not like those are all i listen to now, but i definitely listen to it more since my first roll..

does that even make sense to anyone but me?

Ok pardon pardon, I was just excited to let my mind wander over the net. Now, to go back to your real subject. Yes, I really really agree with you. I have noticed the deeeep connection to music IN ANY FORM while rolling. For example:
After a show once, we all strolled to this bar where everyone else was on the same trip it was obvious. All we had was the juke box. These girls put in Elvis Costello tune that goes "whats so funny 'bout peace love and understandiing?? whoooah! "

Its not like the best tune or anything, but you better believe the whole place was chanting it like it was the anthem of their life.

Man, thats my FAVORITE thinga bout E. :)

There this post was more on subject

Music is my life, so I let it do what it wants to me. All thru out life, there has been lame songs I ve hated, that because of a cartain instance that was really memorable, I begin to love the song. This is without any E of course. Music is just like that. Thats why its so good with E. I think its my favorite part of this drug....the interactions with music...

so yes, where I hd once found that elvis costello song to be annoying, I now find memorable and intriguing. I always loved Bob Marley, but never had a deep connection to any songs of his...like a personal connection. After a good e session with some great lovin' Marley tunes, now they are like "totally epic, dude!" they just go so deep now. I can feel the intensity of the song and I want to sing it!

Not every song/music can do this. I have been annoyed with music at some points on e. when its slow, sluggish, too off beat, not rockin' or danceable....moody artsy meditative music is no good. Just my opiniion.

E makes the tunes enhanced to an extreme. What is naturally nostalgic and enjoyable, becomes extra extra special and gives y ou extra butterflies.

i hate when people call it techno! unless you were listining to real techno! (were you???) sorry!! arrghhh! it's not all "techno!" blasphemy!!!

sorry to be pretentious it's just that so many people are like I HATE TECHNO and i say, what techno have you heard?! and they say "darude!" or some crap like that, and im like ARHGHH!! electronic music is one of the most diverse genres in the world and it gets totally dissed by so many people!!

not saying you are one of those people, i just advocate the not-calling-all-electronic-music-techno movement!!!

    :D *end rant*

To answer the question, YES! I did like it when NOT on e, too. A good night with or without E makes any music enjoyable, if the right place at the right time. This is why some kinds of music "grow" on people. E really really helps music GROW on people, heh heh, instantly. I cant say I dont like the song cuz Im not on e, once the song has entered my life, its there! :)

Yeah, serra, Techno is kinda dorky and overused....but for a lot of newbs, thats the only way to describe it. once they play around a bit, they will find more correct terms. You must of had some bad newb experiences, youve ben around the scene....kinda like my scene, everyone hates the term "jam bands" we think it sounds dorky. But Ive come to terms with "jam bands". with Techno, there are a lot more categories, like Jam band music. You can have a bluegrass band here and a funked out band there, but people call tehm both "jam bands" hmmmm.....oh well labels usually win!
