pachouli is a perfume, usually in the form of an oil (comes in insence and soaps too) to me, it smells like fresh, earthy, woodsy dirt. i know, why would you want to smell like dirt? but its in a good way lol. if you like the smell of being in the woods, you'd probably like it. i like it. i know some people hate it, thou. i know some people put a little on their dreads sometimes makes them smell nice, but i dunno if that would lead to any residue buildup. anyone have input on that?
haha... a year, they used to be super tight and i never ever put soap on them... they just kept themselves clean... i just let them rinse under water when i took a shower....then some girl i knew with dreads showed me this yummy natural shampoo she used and i just had to try it... then i got stuck in the whole cycle again haha....
well this may be scary to some but ...i think the longest i went without washing them..was 5 years..does swimming count????
Wow...redresonant...that's crazy! Did you get used to it right away, or did it make you feel weird not to wash your hair? How did they smell?
i was just starting to feel like a bit of a minger till i read that!! the longest i have been is only about one year!!
once I went a whole goddamn month. I'm currently re-dreading my hair as I speak.... I cut my last ones off
I went almost 3 weeks. When I first got them I was scared to wash them. but IMO they look better after I give em a good wash so I wash once a week now with some rinses in between.
Well I recently went for two weeks without washing them. I hate getting them wet, because then they look like CRAP for like a day and a half, until they dry - my dreads are about shoulder length, and they stick up weird when they're wet. I was gonna see how long I could go, but the itchies got so bad I was gonna cry. And I started getting whiffs of greasy unwashed hair, even after loading up on the patchouli and smoking with incense. And like somebody said before, my hair gets REALLY greasy REALLY fast. So I usually wash them every few days.
I've gone 6 weeks. That was when I got them. All the wax...Dripping down my face. I now wash them every saturday. I love clean dreadlocks
When I first got them, I washed them but because of the damage the washing did to them, I didnt wash them for about 12 weeks :O EWW wash them once a week now Alex
Man, up until the Pmeister's post, I had you all beat. I went for about 3 months. That was 20 years ago!!!
i wet mine every day(cause i shower every day) but i have to wash them almost every 3 days...longest I've gone without washing is 2 weeks.
